Parkinson's disease affects more than 200,000 Australians, yet many people are unaware of the early signs. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that impacts movement, balance and coordination, but it can also affect mood, sleep, and overall wellbeing.

Early symptoms can include:
• Tremors or shaking
• Slowness of movement
• Muscle stiffness
• Changes in handwriting
• Reduced facial expression

Early recognition and support can make a significant difference in managing symptoms and maintaining quality of life. If you or a loved one notice changes that seem unusual or persistent, a conversation with a GP can be an important first step.

Know your normal 💗

Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate – it can impact people of any age or gender. This is why being breast aware matters for everyone.

Being breast aware is simply about getting familiar with how your breasts usually look and feel. There’s no strict routine to follow; it’s more about building small, regular check-ins into everyday moments like showering, getting dressed or applying moisturiser.

🔍 Keep an eye out for changes like:

• any new lump or swelling in the breast
• differences in size, shape or skin texture
• ni**le changes or unexpected discharge
• swelling or discomfort in the armpit or collarbone area
• ongoing or unusual breast or ni**le pain

Most changes aren’t cancer, but if something feels off, it’s always worth getting it checked by a health professional.

Today Tweed Health for Everyone shared a special farewell morning tea for two incredible members of the team – Alana, Practice Manager, and Bri, Podiatrist. ☕💐

After 13 amazing years, Alana is stepping into a new chapter. Throughout that time she has been the heart behind so much of what makes THESC what it is today – providing leadership, support and care for both staff, providers and patients alike. Her dedication and commitment have helped shape the clinic into the welcoming community it is today.

Bri has also been a valued part of the allied health team, helping countless patients stay active, comfortable and confident through expert podiatry care. Her warmth and genuine care for patients will certainly be missed.

While it’s never easy saying goodbye, this farewell comes with excitement for the new adventures ahead for both Alana and Bri.

Tweed Health for Everyone community wishes them both all the very best for the future and thanks them for the incredible impact they have made over the years. 💙

You will both be greatly missed! 🥹🥹 (not crying!)
