Today we said a special goodbye…

After 20 years of memories, laughter and connection, we farewelled our playgroup home at Sacred Heart Church in Murwillumbah.

To mark the occasion, we held a beautiful time capsule ceremony with our playgroup families. Inside went a few treasures… a dinosaur, a vintage car, and a very special burnt and tea-stained note from our playgroupers (complete with all their names, of course!).

There were plenty of little helpers getting stuck into the dirt, making sure everything was safely buried for the future 🦖🚗

It was a lovely way to celebrate the moments shared and the community built in this special space.

From next week, Thursday playgroup will be moving to the Murwillumbah Community Centre — and we’re excited to start this next chapter together. To register for playgroup go to www.thefamilycentre.org.au

Youth Homelessness Matters Day

Each year, The Family Centre supports over 300 young people across Ballina, Byron and Tweed who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

With the housing crisis making it harder than ever to find safe, affordable housing, support from our community is vital. Thanks to the Seaton Foundation, Seaside Shelters, Twin Towns and Ballina RSL, we’re able to provide the essentials young people need to start again safely.
