Four years ago I begun experiencing some food sensitivities and stomach issues for the first time in my life. I had daily symptoms of severe stomach pain, bloating, brain fog, nauseousness and the list goes on. I eventually found out I had Leaky Gut (intestinal permeability). The first 12 months after being diagnosed was probably one of the most difficult and challenging times in life. Before I got better, I got worse and my health went downhill. I lost a lot of weight dropping to 41.8 kilos and was only able to eat a small selection of foods without having a negative reaction. I was literally a walking zombie with nothing left to give and only enough energy to get through the work day. I was constantly judged for choosing a holistic approach to healing my gut. I know the judgment was coming from love and concern but I was left feeling incredibly isolated, alone and sad. Fast forward to today and I look back with nothing but gratitude. From these dark times came a complete lifestyle change and for the first time I begun to have a passion for food and health. After years of abusing my body (excessive alcohol, over exercising, lack of sleep, negative relationships etc) I have found a new way to live, and saw first hand how our bodies can heal providing we give it the right fuel. I no longer head to the pharmacy for prescription medications and use food as my medicine. I am now incredibly passionate about health and wellness and I hope I can help and support others through their journey. Itโ€™s all about finding what works best for you, your body and your lifestyle. Look inwards and trust yourself.

๐Ÿ’œ In the world of yoga, itโ€™s easy to get swept up in the aesthetics of poses and the pressure of achieving a certain level of flexibility or conforming to a specific body shape.

However, instead of worrying about how we look in a pose, letโ€™s explore how it feels. What sensations are arising in our bodies? How is our breath flowing? Letโ€™s take a moment to pause, to truly sense and feel, to breathe consciously.

Yoga is the art of connecting with ourselves, honoring the wisdom within our bodies, and finding solace in the rhythm of our breath ๐Ÿ’œ
