Families who manage their own support – this one’s important.

The Fair Work Ombudsman has launched a formal inquiry into the disability support sector, and it directly affects families who manage their NDIS plans and employ support workers.

Why? Because they’ve found:
• Over $68 million in unpaid wages to support workers
• Thousands of complaints about underpayment and award breaches
• Ongoing confusion about correct pay under the SCHADS Award

The goal of the inquiry is to understand what’s going wrong and help everyone, including families, get clear on their responsibilities when employing staff.
The Fair Work Ombudsman wants to hear from families and self-managers about your experiences – the challenges, the grey areas, and the support you need.

EXCITING NEWS!! Best Life Support Services WA is officially registered with the NDIS. After a rigorous review and audit process, our registration was fast tracked because of the incredibly high standards we set for ourselves.

We're proud and excited with this massive milestone but you might be asking - what are the benefits for you?

✅ Support Coordinators - this now means that you now have a NEW trusted provider who is fully NDIS accreditied and regularly audited, to refer your clients to.

✅ Families and Clients - you will be treated as a real person (as you should be) who will have a voice when requesting support, we will work with you so you have REAL choice and control.

Did you know that some of our best hosts are everyday people who never thought they’d do something like this?

People who want to earn extra money, while having more freedom than a full time job provides.

People who want to welcome someone living with a disability into their own home, or to provide the same services in the client’s home.

You don’t need qualifications or experience, we’d rather you have empathy and integrity because we can provide training for anything else you need.

It’s not a full-time job or carer’s role. You’re a housemate, a mentor, a reliable person who is a safe pair of hands.

It’s the perfect role for mature age students, semi retired people or those looking for part time work that’s not going to increase their tax liabilities. We even have hosts who are business owners who do their own work during the day while our support workers take over.

If you’d like to learn more about what’s involved in offering or even finding hosting services, we’re running an info night online this Wednesday night. It’s free to attend and you can ask questions or just sit back and listen.
