Nala × Loki

This is a pairing we’ve taken a lot of time to plan.

Both Nala and Loki are DNA tested, vet checked and hips and shoulder scored.

While this pairing does offer the potential for a beautiful range of colours and patterns, that has never been the starting point—those details come after the foundations are in place.

Merle, for example, isn’t a colour but a gene that creates a marbled pattern in the coat and can also influence eye colour. It’s something that requires understanding and responsible pairing.

This part is a little more technical, but an important piece—this pairing has been selected so that all puppies will be Ee at the E locus, allowing coat patterns such as merle to be visible rather than hidden.

With a confirmed non-merle to merle combination, we can confidently avoid any risk of double merle, ensuring this pairing is both safe and thoughtfully planned.

Visually, we’re expecting a mix of chocolate and black bases, with the potential for phantom and merle combinations throughout the litter.

Every litter is unique, but this pairing gives us the potential for something really special 🤍

When it comes to planning a pairing, it always starts with the girl.

Temperament, structure, and overall health are the foundation of everything we do. We carefully select our females and even with everything tracking along, in the last three years there has been three females that were never bred and retired from our program.

For those that pass our strict health and temperament standards we take great care in choosing the right match for our girls.

Every pairing is guided first by DNA testing, health and compatibility. We pay close attention to things like hip scores and overall structure, including shoulders and movement, to ensure we are supporting sound, functional dogs long term.

It’s never just about colour—those decisions come into play after the important pieces are in place.

With all our pairings, we are especially mindful in selecting studs that complement our girls in all the right ways, both genetically and structurally, as well as in temperament

We’ve taken our time, selected and sourced the best from all around Australia… and we’re really excited about what’s to come 🤍

Can you guess the pair?

Something special is happening this week!

Using the magic of Ai, and individual DNA here is a predicted 6 pup line up....now who could they belong to? Take a guess!

We’re pairing one of our homebred girls (DNA tested, hips & shoulders scored) with a carefully selected stud—and this is a combination we’ve been planning for some time.

A big focus for us with this pairing is moving away from heavier apricot/cream production and bringing back strong, rich colour expression within our program.

You might notice:
• deep chocolate tones
• beautiful phantom (tan point) markings
• and a touch of merle throughout the litter

A little genetics insight ( if you like DNA ):
The E locus is what determines whether a dog shows colour or appears cream/apricot. In this pairing, every puppy will inherit the gene to **show full colour, so no creams—just rich, expressive coats.

Merle has been used responsibly and safely in this pairing:
✔️ one parent merle, one non-merle
✔️ no possibility of double merle
✔️ health and welfare always the priority

This pairing brings together health, structure, and a direction we’re really proud of.

So… any guesses on the pairing? 🤍

• How many can you see?

Boots & Winnie’s litter update!

Boots is now in her final days and progressing beautifully. She’s relaxed, content, and very much enjoying the extra attention.

We’ve had her X-ray, and it’s always such a special moment seeing these tiny outlines take shape. There’s something quite fascinating about how much (or how little) you can see, depending on the eye.

If your new here.....Boots is a toy cavoodle, and this pairing with Winnie has been thoughtfully planned with a strong focus on temperament, structure, and overall quality.

A small number of families have already been welcomed onto the priority waitlist, and placements will remain intentionally limited to ensure each puppy is matched with the most suitable home.

If you’ve been following along and feel aligned with what I do, you’re welcome to register your interest via RightPaw.

I’ll be sharing more as we approach whelping—such a special time ahead.

Let me know your predition in the comments ❤️

A little name introduction for Sally’s babies

Our chocolate-themed litter has settled in beautifully, we are so very happy to introduce you to:

• Bertie (Beetle) – 8:18am, 355g
• Polly (Waffle) – 8:30am, 305g
• Violet (Crumble) – 8:40am, 295g
• Kit (Kat) – 9:18am, 290g

Sally is doing a wonderful job — quietly watching over them all in our little photo shoot.

Our Priority Waitlist families have been contacted via RightPaw, and we’ll continue sharing little updates as the puppies develop.

From time to time, we may look for a very special guardian home — something we approach carefully and only with the right home.

The adventure has just begun ❤️

Let’s play *Two Truths & a Lie*

We’ve been playing this with the kids and thought we’d bring you in on the fun

Which one do you think is the lie? 👇

1️⃣ Boots is looking extra cute and about to head into her final week of pregnancy🤍
2️⃣ Sally and her puppies are absolutely thriving… even if I look like I haven’t slept in a week 😅
3️⃣ Posie and I are off to Melbourne to explore all the dog-friendly cafes ☕

💬 Drop your guess in the comments — 1, 2 or 3!
Bonus points if you tell me why

I’ll reveal the answer later…

No wonder she was named Boots 🐾

Looking back at Boots as a puppy, those little white feet were already stealing hearts — and now with her first litter on the way, we’re so excited to see what she passes on.

Genetically, this pairing is going to give us a beautiful mix:
✨ Solid apricot pups
🧦 “Boots-style” puppies with socks, chest and blazes
🎨 Parti babies with those stunning white patches

Colour-wise, all pups will be in the apricot/cream family, but don’t be fooled — some may start off a richer apricot before softening into those dreamy creamy tones as they grow.

The real magic will be in the markings…
Will we get mini Boots?
Mismatched socks?
Full stockings?
Or a flashy parti star? 👀

We’re expecting a gorgeous, varied litter of 5 — and if they’re anything like their mum, they’ll be absolute heart-melters.........
