Barbara also provides mental health counselling to parents, adolescents and children. Barbara has extensive experience in working with adults and children who have suffered family violence, trauma, loss and grief, abuse. Training:

We recently acquired the necessary qualifications to be able to add autism assessments to the list of services we provide 💞

Here are the steps you need to take if you think your child needs to be assessed for autism:

✅ Visit our website and fill out the intake form - no GP referral necessary
✅ We will contact you to organize an interview with you alone to gather information (approx 90 min)
✅ We then organize a time to do an assessment on your child (this may take 2 hours)
✅ Once the assessment is done, we will write a report that you can take to your paediatrician to get it validated
✅ This validated report will allow you to seek support from NDIS

We also can help you with the paperwork. Contact us to get the ball rolling for your child's assessment 👩‍🍼

I am an Accredited Social Worker with over 20 years’ experience working with children and families who experienced trauma through family violence, abuse and neglect, and emotional harm among other painful experiences. I have a special interest in children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Further education includes an Advanced Clinical Skills Child Centred Play Therapy (Play Therapy Australia); Group Filial Therapy (Play Therapy Australia); Professional Certificate in Mental Health Practice (University of Melbourne); Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Practice( La Trobe University); being also a facilitator for Circle of Security and Tuning into Kids.

We attend NDIS - Plan Managed and Self-Managed Plans.
