Deb Bailey Memories On this page we share memories of Deb Bailey, who died of motor neurone disease at the age of 48 years.

We also post stories of developments in the fight to beat this devastating illness and support the work of Macquarie University's MND Research Centre This page is for sharing memories of Deb Bailey, an accomplished and much-loved magazine editor and mother of two beautiful daughters. Deb died of motor neurone disease at the young age of 48 after a short but devastating illness. We will also post news of developments in the battle to beat MND/ALS and support the work of the research scientists at Macquarie University’s MND research centre. The centre was the brainchild of the Deb Bailey Foundation, which operated from 2002 until 2020.

The saddest day has come around again. Today, July 23, is the 24th anniversary of the day Deb Bailey was taken from those who loved her, a victim of motor neurone disease, a cruel killer. Deb was a warm-hearted, intelligent, charming, accomplished woman so today is also an occasion for family and friends to remember how she touched them and to celebrate her life. Deb, mother of Claire and Jane and wife of David, was taken from us at the young age of 48. She is still missed by so many people who knew her, appreciated her and loved her (Note: I had a little brain snap and posted this prematurely a while ago but this gives us another chance to spend some time thinking about Deb - David ❤️)

Today, March 30, is a day of memories for all - family and friends - who loved Deb Bailey. We remember the wonderful, warm-hearted, intelligent and talented woman who was so sadly taken from us in 2001, at the age of 48, a victim of motor neurone disease. Deb, the mother of Claire and Jane and wife of David, would have been 72 today. Our memories are warm, funny, good and moving, interrupted by the shock of her diagnosis with the cruellest of diseases. We remember then the courage, strength and amazing good humour with which the pushed back the disease - until she could no longer do so. We remember Deb was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her

March 30 is a day when all who loved Deb Bailey, family and friends, remember what a kind, loving, intelligent, accomplished, beautiful woman she was - and how fortunate we all were to have her in our lives, even though too briefly. Had she not been taken at the young age of 48, Deb would have been 71 today. She is missed by so many who were close to her
