I hope you’re able to get out into the garden and enjoy the sunshine today! Maybe you and your little ones can go exploring and find the magic - interesting insects making holes and webs… or even fairies, if you believe in them! ✨ The aim is connection, joy, and a little bit of magic with your children. 🥰

You know - I truly believe you are your child’s greatest teacher.

You CAN help them learn to talk through your everyday weekend tasks. Even if they aren't talking yet, keep talking to them. I know you've got this! (and if you'd like a little support - I'm here to help too).

Book in for a hands-on session at home, where I can show you how to build your child’s language during the things you’re already doing. As a mum myself, I get how hard is it and exhausting it can be to find time for planned therapy tasks or sit-down activities. Let me show you some simple tricks and help you notice the wonderful things you and your child are already doing every day.

Great way to end my Friday afternoon 😊
A non-speaking child I'm working with has just started using their "talker" and new typing skills to communicate an important message to me mid- session: "Bye bye Jo! " (i.e., "Jo, it's time for you to leave now)" . Okay, I get the hint 🤣 and I guess an early mark is okay, since it is a Friday arvo and you have communicated so well that you've had enough of me today! ❤️

Look at this brilliant idea for creating play from books and stories! These types of activities are especially good for those children who need a little more encouragement to sit and read books. Imagine all the words a child could learn by extending the story into an interactive play activity! For example, you could model words like: "Put the lion in the blue box" and "that's a tall giraffe!".
We love using activities like these in our sessions as we know that young children learn best through play! Thanks for this great idea Mrs Lardeedah! I will be definitely be using it in future sessions 🤗

It's never too early to start reading to your kids! :D Reading teaches communication, introduces concepts such as numbers, letters, colors, and shapes in a fun way, builds listening, memory, and vocabulary skills and gives babies information about the world around them.
Both my babies "reading" at 6 weeks and now the 4 year old reads to the newborn ❤

Highly recommend reading black and white high contrast books to new born babies- it is what I've used with my 2 children. These books don't have words to read but we describe the pictures, e.g. "A bird!" and use words like "turn the page" and "finished" while reading. It's Occupational Therapy (OT) week - so happy OT week to all those fantastic OTs out there!

We love collaborating with our client's Occupational Therapists so that we can provide a holistic service that supports client's sensory needs, attention, fine motor development and play skills within our therapy sessions.

Regulation, attention and play skills are the building blocks for a child to participate well in therapy sessions. So it's essential we work with OTs to help us!

Well done to Michelle from Parents2B! She is an amazing Midwife and has been supporting us with home visits for our new baby William. We would highly recommend her for any support with a newborn including feeding and sleep support, and support in helping older siblings transition with a new baby in the home!
