What is Walk ‘n’ Talk For Life?

Walk 'n' Talk For Life is an on-going event that brings like minded caring people together to help prevent su***de. Talking Therapy saves lives and whether you walk and talk, listen or just be present to show your support then great things will happen. Our community needs to open up their hearts and give more love than ever before, so come along to our walks and join in on the growing community spirit. More than 8 people die by su***de each day in Australia, and for every passing from su***de, it is estimated that upwards of 30 individuals Endeavor to end their lives. Walk 'n' Talk For Life, is a gathering of like minded individuals creating something positive proactive, in an attempt to lower those statistics. Walk n Talk For Life is dedicated to raising awareness, providing education and by creating connected, supportive communities around Australia.

Walk n Talk For Life is a walking support group, for people to come and connect with others who understand what they are going through. It is an inclusive, encouraging, motivational atmosphere where people can reach out, talk to someone, and start making some positive changes in their life.

Walk ’n' Talk For Life serves as a constructive voice for mental health in our community, and as a solid reminder for the community that there is always someone to listen, to chat to, to feel connected with…to walk and talk with. Every new walker is welcomed with a free T shirt!

Walk ‘n’ Talk For Life was started in Manly by Shannon Nevin in 2016. 200 people walked from Queenscliff Lagoon to Shelly Beach and back in their yellow shirts and caps. Since then, Walk n Talk for life has become a multi-state initiative and Shannon has started 8 Walk ‘n’ Talk For Life events around Australia, with plans of many more in rural towns and remote communities throughout Australia.
