Lace up your sneakers and mark your calendar for Sunday, November 2, 2025, because Mind the Walk is striding back into Rockingham, and it’s bigger, brighter, and bolder than ever! As you amble through Rotary Park Reserve and the surrounding coastline, you’ll be led on a scavenger hunt, peppered with fun and quirky historical facts that bring our local story to life. With every registration, you’ll receive a treasure-filled information booklet—your passport to discovering hidden gems along the route. Community Carnival: More Than a Walk! Some tips to a happier life...

Based on research and expert advice, small, consistent daily actions can significantly increase happiness. Here are seven effective things you can do to make your life happier:

Practice Gratitude Daily
Actively acknowledging what you are thankful for can rewire your brain for positivity. Consider keeping a gratitude journal to write down things you appreciate, which boosts your mood and changes your heart's focus.

Get Active and Move Your Body
Exercise releases endorphins that fight depression, reduce stress, and improve your mood. Regular physical activity, such as walking, running, or dancing, not only increases happiness but also promotes better health and longevity.

Prioritize Quality Sleep
Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is crucial for emotional well-being and energy levels. A consistent, relaxing bedtime routine helps regulate your mood and reduces stress.

Cultivate Real Social Connections
Nurturing relationships with family and friends is essential for lasting happiness. Make time to connect with people who support you, as shared experiences and social time significantly reduce stress.

Spend Time Outdoors and in Nature
Even 20 minutes a day outside in the sunshine can improve your mood and lower your heart rate. Taking a walk in nature can act as a natural stress reliever.

Help Others and Practice Kindness
Engaging in acts of kindness and helping others can increase your own sense of purpose and happiness.

Live in the Moment (Mindfulness)
Practicing mindfulness—such as meditation—helps reduce anxiety and brings more peace to your life. Slow down and fully experience pleasant moments rather than rushing through them.

Sudoku is good for mental health because it offers a challenging mental workout that enhances cognitive functions, such as memory, logic, and attention, while providing a therapeutic, stress-relieving distraction.

Regularly playing Sudoku can help sharpen thinking, boost mood through accomplishment-driven dopamine releases, and potentially delay cognitive decline.

GOOD LUCK from the Team

We're SO excited we're sharing this AGAIN....

A massive thank you to everyone who joined Mind The Walk. A Guided Historical Walk for Mental Health and helped raise awareness in our community.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Rockingham (Western Australia), Palm Beach and Baldivis — and with your generosity — over $5,000 was raised for our Emergency Relief Fund. This funding helps us provide immediate practical support to some of our most vulnerable clients.

"For our most traumatised clients, emergency relief is not separate from mental health care - it is mental health care. Meeting basic needs is the first therapeutic intervention" - SCHCS Mental Health Clinician.

We’re already excited to be part of this incredible event again in 2026.

02/11/2025

The first tour is off and running. We have five more with the last tour around 10.30 - if you haven’t booked that’s fine just come on down to Rotary Park and donate and pay in the market
