Dedicated Mirena/IUD clinics are held each fortnight on a Wednesday morning with Dr Rachael Lay or alternatively every 2nd Friday afternoon with Dr Michelle Warman.

*Important Update to Cancellation Policy / DNA Fee & Appointment Fees *

To better support our patients during these challenging economic times, we will be reducing our late cancellation / DNA fee as of 1st September to $50 for standard and $100 for long consultations.

We would also like to reassure our patients that the usual practice of fee increases will also not be occurring at this time of year.

Our goal is to provide flexibility and understanding, while still maintaining the quality of care you expect from us.

An SMS will be sent prior to your booked appointment so please ensure you confirm your appointment with a Yes or cancel with a No within the specified time frame as outlined in your SMS.

If you do fail to cancel/attend or do not give the appropriate time frame cancellation, the non-attendance fee does need to apply.
Please note: This fee is a non-Medicare rebateable service.

Please be aware that on Monday 11th August the surgery will only be open from 8.00am – 12.00pm with minimum staff in recognition of the Moreton Bay Region Show Holiday.

The surgery will be open as normal (8.00am – 6.00pm) on Wednesday 13th August (Brisbane City Show Holiday).

The winter season is truly upon us and with this season comes the unwelcome guest of winter illness. 🤧

Currently Queensland Health has had to temporarily cancel some elective surgeries as hospital admissions have increased over the last few weeks.

The flu, COVID and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) are affecting many people right now.

These are all potentially serious and may lead to hospitalisation.

It's not too late to get yourself and your family immunised so book an appointment to see your GP!

Have you heard about the National Lung Cancer Screening Program?

From July 2025, eligible people in Australia will be able to participate in screening for lung cancer through the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Low-dose computed tomography (CT) scans in the program are covered by Medicare.
Screening is a way of finding signs of cancer in people who do not have any symptoms. The goal is to find cancer early, when it is easier to treat.

You are eligible for the program if you meet all of the below criteria –
• Are aged 50 – 70 years
And
• Have no symptoms or signs that suggest lung cancer
And
• Smoke to***co ci******es or have a history of cigarette smoking (having quit within 10 years)
And
• Are a current smoker or have a history of to***co cigarette smoking of at least 30 pack-years (eg. 20 ci******es a day = 1 pack - year)

In honour of National Receptionist Day today, we would like to recognise our hard working Receptionists.

Our Reception team meet our patients with welcoming smiles on a daily basis. They understand the importance of maintaining positive and supportive relationships with our patients and also with our patients’ families and caregivers.

Among many duties, including answering calls, checking patients in and out of appointments, and relaying important messages, our Receptionists work endlessly to make patient experience as seamless as possible.
