🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Dr John Pereira is a Paediatric & Interventional Radiologist at Prince of Wales Hospital & Sydney Children’s Hospital, as well our Principle Radiologist.

⛑️With over twenty years of medical imaging experience in both the public and private sector. John holds a fellowship Paediatric Radiology and as a result of his dedication to the field is highly skilled in paediatric imaging including MRI (adults & paediatrics) as well as Vascular and non-vascular intervention.

🏥 John brings a tremendous depth of Knowledge and has held senior roles such as the Director of Prince of Wales Hospital & Sydney Children’s Hospital.

CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) 💥

💡 Here at BLMI our Ultra-low Dose CT machine was installed to provide a spectrum of diagnostic imaging tests for most clinical needs. Reducing radiation dose by up to 85%, while maintaining the highest resolution diagnostic images. Including highest grade Cardiac Imaging.

❤️ CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) uses CT scanning to take images of the coronary arteries of the beating heart, allowing for the diagnosis of diseases within the vessels.

💉Liquid contrast agents are injected into a vein (usually in the arm) which increase the density of the blood in the vessels, and allow the inside and outside structure of blood vessels to be clearly visible on the CT angiogram images. Medication to reduce blood flow and slow down the heart rate might also be given to make the images even clearer and easier to interpret. This will either be given in tablet form or into a vein through a cannula.
