LAWI My life after work injury After a workplace injury, life may never be the same. This is the public page for the IWPSN Inc Merlinskeepe Productions

Life After Work injury moderated by Merlinskeepee Productions on behalf of the IWPSN
A group for workers (and their families) who have been injured at work, navigating the compensation system. We have members and admins from both State and Federal compensation systems. We are a peer lead, and run support network. We wish to develop a person centred response , to practice respectful and reflective listening, catalysing improved empathy and understanding the injured workers mental health issues and likely emotional distress. Being aware of trauma informed care is essential, We are vulnerable and traumatised individuals. More often than not the injured worker is a voice in the wilderness left to fend for her/himself. A lived experience is where injured workers are finding real life changing value, instilling hope and opening up a mindset of possibility rather than restriction, limitation and afterthought. We do not coach we travel alongside injured workers as peers, together facilitating choice and control to our members. Anything less than this will be providing a service that is unhelpful and often retraumatising. Injured Workers Peer Support Network firmly believe that injured workers should be empowered, promoting self-direction, inter-dependence and building community with the people they are being supported by. These key principles are the foundation of the injured workers peer support network Australia. We want to shape the services injured workers need, with choice and control, so that support reflects the way injured workers can live their life, revitalised! Developing policy without consultation is dictating. We are here to make some noise and we will keep making noise until we are heard. If this resonates with you and you feel this group can assist you, welcome. I encourage you to engage in the conversations that happen here. Post often, share your knowledge and experience for the betterment of all injured workers and their families feeling isolated, abandoned and alone. Nobody has a right to speak about us without consulting us (NOT ABOUT US WITHOUT US) and remember NO INJURED WORKER STANDS ALONE with the IWPSN!

Dear Members and Supporters of the Injured Workers Peer Support Network,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share an important announcement regarding the future of the Injured Workers Peer Support Network. After many years of running the group single-handedly, I have reached a point where I feel it is time for a change.

Over the years, our group has served as a vital source of support and assistance to injured workers. Together, we have created a community that understands the unique challenges faced by those who have been injured on the job. Our dedication and efforts have made a significant impact, providing a space where members could find solace, share experiences, and receive valuable guidance.

However, as some of you may have noticed, my personal commitment to the group has waned in recent times. I have been feeling exhausted and unable to devote the same level of energy and attention as before. Despite my previous attempts to find someone willing to take over the group's management, there were no takers.

After careful consideration, I have come to the difficult decision to archive the Injured Workers Peer Support Network. This means that the group's page will no longer be active, and the activities we once engaged in will cease. While it saddens me to take this step, I believe it is the right choice for both myself and the future of the group.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and participation in the Injured Workers Peer Support Network. Your contributions, whether through sharing your stories, offering advice, or simply being there for one another, have made a lasting impact on the lives of many.

While the group's page will be archived, the spirit of our community will live on. I encourage you all to stay connected with one another, support each other in your respective journeys, and seek out other resources that can provide the assistance you may need.
Once again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dedication and commitment to the Injured Workers Support Network. It has been an incredible journey, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me personally. My contact information will remain available for a limited time.
Wishing you all the very best in your future endeavors.

Warm regards,
Sean.
