Hi members,

The recent surge of COVID-19 in Victoria has affected the availabilities of both our speakers and participants to partake in Smarter Research Australia seminars as more clinicians are facing redeployment and heavier workloads. We have made the difficult decision to defer our October twilight sessions to next year. We are grateful for the enthusiasm we have received for our program, but we felt it was the right choice for our community during such challenging times.

Introducing our first speaker! 📢
🌟 Dr. Jessica Fairley 🌟

Dr. Jessica Fairley is an advanced trainee in Rheumatology currently finishing her training at Monash Health. She obtained her MBBS at Monash University and completed her basic physician training at Alfred Health. She will undertake a PhD next year through St Vincent’s hospital in Scleroderma.

Her accolades include the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Trainee Award in Research Excellence and 11 first author peer-reviewed journal articles, including 6 first author systematic reviews. On top of these academic achievements, Jess has also managed to complete a number of half marathons.

With yet another lockdown in Victoria, what better way to spend it than attending Smarter Research Australia’s ‘Practical Skills in Medical Research Course: From Research Question to Publication’ next Saturday July 24th from 9am-1pm over Zoom.

Smarter Research Australia is run by a team of award-winning passionate clinicians with extensive research backgrounds. They understand what it’s like to be a busy doctor and have designed an accessible research course that guides doctors at all levels on how to maximise their research outputs, boost their CV and make themselves more competitive for trainee applications. They've also decided to allow all registered participants to have online access to all their videos from the day through a member’s area for 6 weeks post the event. This will allow you to focus and engage with their content in real time without rushing to take down notes!

In addition, anyone who purchases a ticket but is unable to make the event live due to work or a sudden change in plans will still have access to their videos for 6 weeks, receive the PDF booklet and also be sent their certificate of participation.
