We were fortunate enough to be hosted by a local kindy today in order to provide education during Learning Disabilities Week 💜

We got to do a storytime and some singing and dancing whilst teaching the kids about how to respectfully be curious and celebrate differences

Coasty is off on the road again tomorrow to see some more kids and share this expirience with them!

At MentorMate, all our activities are evidence-based and designed with purpose! One standout option is recreational fishing, a powerful tool for supporting children with autism and ADHD.

Fishing creates a calming and engaging environment that enhances focus and social interaction. The soothing rhythm of casting and reeling helps with sensory integration, while the serene waters promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. Plus, fishing teaches patience and perseverance—skills that can be challenging for many children.

Through shared experiences with our mentors, kids can build social skills and foster meaningful connections. Research shows that outdoor activities like fishing lead to improved behavioral outcomes, making it a fantastic therapeutic choice!

Each of our mentors is equipped with kid-friendly rods, hand reels, and tackle boxes available upon request as part of your shift.
