🚨 Important Notice: Beware of Impersonators! 🚨

It has come to our attention that individuals are fraudulently pretending to be Australian Disability Navigators (ADNav) by using email addresses that do not come from .com.au. These scammers are attempting to mislead participants, providers, and our community.

Recently, ADNav was the target of a phishing attempt, but we want to reassure everyone that we have significantly upgraded our internet and email security in recent weeks to protect our organisation and the people we support.

✅ How to Stay Safe:
🔹 Only trust emails from .com.au – If you receive an email claiming to be from us but from a different domain, do not respond or click on any links.
🔹 If you're unsure about an email, contact us directly through our official channels.
🔹 Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to us.

See below re this upcoming FREE program coming to Albury. Please reach out if you'd like some assistance apply for a spot in this workshop.

Hi guys, David Prentice from Trainer Group Foundation here.

We facilitate free wellbeing workshops for Australian’s living with disability and are about to embark on a national tour across eight different locations, including Albury Wodonga.

On Wednesday 19 February Millie Elliott (4 x NRLW Premiership & SAS Australia winner) and Olivia Kernick (2024 Dally M Medalist) will be running a two hour workshop for adults at Greenfield Park from 2-4pm (flyer attached).

During the first hour Millie and Olivia will run the participants through workbooks with key takeaways including building confidence, developing social skills, improving physical and mental health, resilience and encouragement to become more active in the community. Then for the second hour everyone’s out on the field doing fun, team-based activities with the footies.

There is a natural rugby league lean given the girls’ background, but you don’t have to play or even be a fan to attend…it’s a mix of education and physical activity, and they’re a lot of fun!

Here is an example of one of our workshops in 2024 which will give you a better idea of what they look like: Elliott’s Sky Blues tour a game changer for regional communities.

Each of our workshops are capped at 20 participants signed-up on a first-come-first-serve basis, with support workers/family members encouraged to attend.

📅 Holiday Closure:
Our office will be closed from Monday, 23rd December 2024, and will reopen on Monday, 6th January 2025. During this time, we’ll be unavailable for contact.

When we return on 6th January, we’ll kick off with an Administrative Week. During this time, we’ll be working behind the scenes to update participant records, complete reports, and get everything ready for 2025.

🌏 Today We Celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) 🌟

Today, 3 December, marks the International Day of People with Disability, a United Nations-sanctioned day established in 1992. This important day is dedicated to promoting awareness of disability issues and celebrating the remarkable abilities, contributions, and achievements of people with disability across the globe.

This year, IDPwD coincides with the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, further highlighting the importance of inclusivity, accessibility, and equal rights for all.

At Australian Disability Navigators, we are committed to empowering individuals with a disability to live their lives to the fullest and to building a future where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is the standard.

We understand that news of the sweeping new reforms to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) may feel overwhelming, and you may have concerns about how these changes will impact you or your loved ones.

At Australian Disability Navigators, we want to assure you that we are here to support you every step of the way. We encourage everyone to stay calm and patient as we navigate these changes together.

🚨 Important Update for NDIS Participants and Providers 🚨

The NDIA has released the 2024/2025 Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, effective from 01/07/2024, giving providers just 1 business day to adjust.

For half a decade, Support Coordination (Level 2 and 3) and Plan Management pricing has been frozen, putting overwhelming stress on quality providers. This decision leaves participants without essential supports while criminals exploit the scheme. Despite the government’s claims, this move shows little regard for quality service providers.

The NDIA refuses to develop a cost model for Support Coordination and Plan Management, relying on flawed data to justify their position. Amid a cost of living crisis, funding cuts continue, jeopardising the future of good quality NDIS providers.

We fear this will force many to go out of business or stop providing support coordination. However, Australian Disability Navigators want to reassure all participants that Australian Disability Navigators has no plans on shutting down. We’re committed to supporting you through these challenging times.

Australian Disability Navigators are deeply disappointed that Minister Bill Shorten and the leadership at the NDIA have refused to listen to participants and providers.

We have been planning this for a little while. Given our recent approval by the Quality and Safeguards Commission, we think the time is right for a rebrand.

When I started My NDIS Guy I did not realise it would become the company it is today and I did not dream in a million years I would have the greatest team anyone could ask for.

Working from home, I started My NDIS Guy offering Support Coordination. As the team grew we then offered Specialist Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching.

Now that our registration is approved, Australian Disability Navigators will now be offering Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination, Psychosocial Recovery coaching, Plan Management and Specialist Disability Accommodation.

I look forward to what we will do next 🙂
