👁️ Fun Fact Friday! ⚡
Did you know the fastest-moving muscle in the human body is the orbicularis oculi - the tiny muscle around your eye? It can contract in less than 1/100th of a second! That's what lets you blink so quickly and protect your eyes in a flash.
Just one more way the human body is amazing! 💡

Miss A and AHA Julie have been working together to practice modulating and coordinating bilateral hand movements - and what better way to do that than by creating these beautiful snowflakes! ❄️
Crafting snowflakes isn’t just a fun activity, it’s a fantastic way to build:
✔️ Fine motor control
✔️ Hand strength
✔️ Coordination between both hands
✔️ Focus and patience
We love seeing creativity and skill come together in therapy! Amazing work, Miss A! 💜

🧠 Fun Fact Friday 🧠
Every minute, your body sheds over 30,000 dead skin cells! 😲
That might sound a little icky, but it’s actually a healthy and natural part of how your body works. Shedding dead skin helps make room for new skin cells to grow - it’s your body’s way of keeping your skin fresh, healthy, and protective.
So the next time you’re feeling like you’re not making progress… just remember, your body is literally renewing itself every single minute!

Who says therapy teams don’t know how to have fun?
Our staff recently took on a good old-fashioned Jenga challenge - and not only was it a great laugh, it was also a reminder of the many benefits of simple games like this one!
Jenga isn’t just about stacking blocks, it builds:
🧠 Problem solving skills
✋ Fine motor control
🧍 Hand-Eye coordination
💬 Communication & Teamwork
😄 Stress relief & social connection
These are the very same skills we support in our participants every day!
At HEEA Therapy Services, we believe learning should be fun - for everyone. Even our team! 💜

Well done, Nik! 👏
Nik has been working hard on understanding “How Big is My Problem?” and exploring problem-solving strategies through hands-on games. This week’s challenge? “Build the tallest tower you can using only newspaper and tape!”
And guess what? He absolutely nailed it! 💥 Nik showed determination, creativity, and fantastic thinking to overcome the challenge — and built an AMAZING tower!
We love seeing our participants rise to the occasion, learning through play and having fun along the way.
Great job, Nik - keep reaching for the sky!

Slime Shenanigans Alert!
Slime is officially the hottest trend in the office right now! One of our participants had so much fun making slime during their session, they wrote a heartfelt (and hilarious!) letter to Terri-Ann to say sorry for using it all up… because she had to go buy more!
But let’s be real - how can anyone resist the stretchy, squishy, sensory magic of slime? 😄
Here at HEEA, we embrace the mess if it means creativity, sensory exploration, and a whole lot of joy.

📚 Fun Fact Friday
Did you know you’re taller in the morning than at night? 🛌🌞
That’s right - you might measure up to 1cm taller when you first get out of bed! Throughout the day, gravity compresses the soft cartilage between your bones (especially your spine), causing you to “shrink” ever so slightly.
So if you want to feel tall, measure up first thing! 😉

🔤 Sound of the Week: "th" 🦷🗣️
This week we’re focusing on the "th" sound — like in thumb, three, and tooth!
This sound can be tricky for little tongues, but we make it fun through games, songs, and hands-on activities that help children practice while they play.
Whether it's voiced like in this or unvoiced like in think, we help children hear the difference and give their mouths the muscle memory to master it.
📚 Activities we love for "th":
- Sorting pictures with "th" words (thumb, thunder, thermometer, etc.)
- Mirror work to watch tongue placement 🪞
- "Th" treasure hunt: find objects around the room starting with "th"
- Songs like "This Old Man" or "There Was an Old Lady"
Books:
- There’s a Wocket in My Pocket by Dr. Seuss
- The Thing About Yetis by Vin Vogel
- Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose by Dr. Seuss
📣 Let’s THrive with our “th” sounds this week!

🧸💙 Bluey Magic in Action! 💙🧸
During his session, Oliver brought along his Bluey toys and got creative - making his very own Bluey lookalike!
We were blown away by his imagination and the awesome detail he added. What a fun way to combine play and therapy!
Keep up the amazing work, Oliver - you’re a Bluey superstar!
