🥗 Nourishing your body with wholesome, nutritious food is one of the most powerful acts of self-love.
Prepare your food with enjoyment and creativity and with the intent to nourish and love your body. I have always had the philosophy to eat to live rather than live to eat. But what is nutritious, what should you eat??
There is a lot of confusion about what we should eat, and we have forgotten to check in with our own wisdom on what we need to feel healthy. Over the years I have learnt from the times I listened to my body and the times I went against my body or didn't listen and the most painful times in life was when I didn't listen.
I heard the saying something like.. Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease. And so many people are in this space, No disease but not really feeling vital and super.
So what can you do, first, listen to what your body calls for, just because you think you are healthy, doesn’t mean your body actually is healthy.
There's all kinds of diets and ways of eating out there, carnivore diet, vegan living, vegetarian, keto etc etc... but there's not one way for all..
What we consume that the body doesn’t agree with causes stress and inflammation. Foods are often now grown all year around and grown with chemicals which creates lack of nutrients, so we don’t eat to season, and we struggle to get the full nutrition. Sometimes back to basics is best for a short time to allow the body to rebalance itself.
Be conscious about what you eat.. ask what does my body need? Do you feed grounding foods such as meat, or root vegetables? Do you need light? Go organic where you can or grow your own. Listen to the nudges on what is nutritious to you, and feed your body that. This is self-love.
What would you consider your body’s go to for a nutritious meal?
