FRONTLINE | One word, one vision, one image
The soul of a healthcare worker behind the mask
the fear of the unknown
the pain of the person you're treating, their family, their friends
the hope of what you are doing will help
the knowledge that you can, and you do make a difference
the drive to just DO despite the consequence that it may have to your own self
After spending the majority of my 25+ year nursing career in ICU’s and in infection control, my hat is off to the ladies and gents out there at the moment.
The personal toll is enormous; you deserve gratitude and respect from all forever
THANKYOU
TOTAL CREDIT FOR THIS IMAGE IS TO THE AMAZING ARTIST - this is exactly as I see my self after looking after a patient. You see through to the soul. Unbelievable.

AESTHETICS | Terms and words can be confusing, especially if your nurse/doctor doesnt speak the same language as you - aka normal speak, during your xonaultation
This is a great pic and
AMAZING! TOTAL CREDIT to you.
Some common words/terms used in Aesthetics and what they are actually referring to.
I started to create a growing list...so please feel free to add:
Bolus: A small ball/mass - usually referring to filler

Collagen: Major structural proteins that give skin strength and resilience

Dermal Filler: Gel-like substance, usually Hyaluronic Acid, to add volume, fill lines & wrinkles

Hyperpigmentation: Excessive skin pigmentation

Melanocytes: A pigment producing cell found in the skin, hair, and eyes that gives them their colour

Photo-ageing: Changes to skin due to sun exposure eg wrinkles, age spots

Retinol: A derivative of Vitamin A commonly found in many skin care products

Rhinoplasty: A procedure used to enhance or change the appearance of the nose

Sebaceous glands: The glands of the skin that emit oil

Subcutaneous: A term referring to below the skin

Sun protection factor: Commonly seen on sunscreen packages as "SPF," the sun protection factor is the amount of UVB ray protection a sunscreen product provides

Tretinoin: A prescription drug derived from vitamin A often used in skin care

SKIN DEEP | Know your injector! Ask the questions and know what they are using in your skin
* Are they medically licenced/registered?
* How long have they had that particular registration? Don't be fooled by the ”oh I've worked in the industry for...” They could've been the chemist store cleaner, or an assistant
* Have they had cosmetic injection training? You can be licenced but not trained in cosmetics
* Is the product dissolvable? And non-permanent? If a filler cant it can't be corrected if something goes wrong
* Can I see the product? And check the expiry and product seal. Get a sticker with the batch number to keep as a reference
* What are the risks? If they don't know to leave!
* Do they have an after-hours service, if something goes wrong? Better places do or will give you written information on where to go and what to do.
POORLY PLACE INJECTABLE PRODUCTS CAN HARM YOU, AND CAN HAVE DISASTROUS TERM EFFECTS!
ASK QUESTIONS
Just because they are on Instagram with 30k followers doesn't mean they are qualified, or good injectors, just means they have good social media skills - check first, be safe.
Things can go wrong even with the most experienced injector, every person's anatomy is different, but it's good to know that this can be managed and limited in TRAINED hands.

SKIN QUALITY | Skin function, appearance and overall quality is what makes your aesthetic treatments last longer.
We can inject so much, but we can improve a great deal more when advice is taken.
skincare skincare
Skin improvement and beauty is more than skin or filler deep.
Good quality skincare, good diet, good mindset with realistic goals = aesthetic outcomes!
Having a professional give a full view of overall health and well-being will give you a full 360 degree plan and assessment.
Protect your investment
Look after your skin
Serums are key! - to skincare, and can improve the appearance before and after cosmetic treatments

STRUCTURE AND PULL | ligaments
Our faces have strong retaining ligaments that originate from our bone or deep tissues, and connect to our overlying skin’s dermis.
These ligaments can be important when it comes to ageing as they help to stabilise and anchor our skin and tissues in position...helping to maintain a lifted appearance in youth.
Around these ligaments, we can predict signs of ageing such as tear troughs, the midcheek groove and jowls.
While our facial ligaments may be released during facial plastic surgery, they are also of increasing interest within non surgical aesthetics, to help create an indirect ‘lift’. Thank you to the wonderful illustrations of Facial Volumization by Jerome Paul Lamb and Christopher Chase Surek.

LIPS | They are a prominent feature that's appearance can change the whole face. And how people perceive you emotionally or behavioural expressions
Shape, texture, colour and definition
Lip augmentation is an acceptable and easily accessible treatment today.
It's understandable why LIPS are a focus of today's beauty trends... We can now change them!
Understanding the anatomy, neurovasculature, and musculature of the lips is paramount in getting the correct balance.
The lips are an essential aspect of the human face and play a critical role in facial expression, phonation, sensation, mastication, physical attraction, and intimacy.
