Our vision for this project is to support Head and Neck Cancer patients with a free hard copy of a Patient Journey Guidebook. We can only do this with your support.

It provides a space for patients to:

🔴 Write down thoughts and feelings
🔴 Keep track of appointments
🔴 Monitor their treatment plan and record doctors notes
🔴 Read encouraging stories from other patients and medical staff

The Patient Journey Guidebook is launching on World Head & Neck Cancer day, 27th July 2024. Share this post to reach more people and help all HNC patients. Let's make a difference together.

John was diagnosed with head and neck cancer after treatment for essential thrombocytopenia and a mini-stroke (TIA). He underwent surgery and adjuvant radiotherapy, facing challenges and side effects along the way.

Despite this, John continues to lead an active lifestyle and maintain a positive outlook on life. His story reminds us to focus on the miracles ahead, whether it's scoring the next birdie on the golf course or achieving something extraordinary.

Did you know?
There is no formal screening test for Head and Neck Cancer.

While head and neck cancers may start silently, a lump in the neck is often the first sign. Remember, these symptoms can mimic other conditions.

Please check your skin and head monthly and if any symptoms arrive, consult your GP for timely evaluation and peace of mind.

Living abroad in London, Olivia was diagnosed with stage three squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue in 2021.

Throughout her treatment, Olivia found comfort in the support of loved ones and the 'Young Tongues' community, a group of young cancer warriors.

Her message to those walking a similar path is to lean on your support system, embrace the highs and lows, and above all, believe in yourself. Because as Olivia proves, strength isn't just about enduring the journey- it's about allowing yourself to be supported along the way.

Lora Winter was diagnosed with Stage 4 tongue cancer in 2017.

In a recent news story in the Sydney Morning Herald, Lora said “It’s a socially isolating disease.” “You become so self-conscious because you can’t eat or talk as well as you used to. But this is who I am now.”

Lora initially dismissed the ulcer that developed on her tongue in 2017 as a sign of stress.

Unfortunately, many young people are prescribed antibiotics as the solution to persistent ulcers. If you have a persistent ulcer, don't ignore it – get it checked! Early detection saves lives!

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Lora for her inspiring advocacy to help raise awareness of mouth cancer.
