STONE CIRCLES and more....
I have been completely obsessed with the history here in the UK - England, Ireland, and Scotland - during my travels over the last few weeks.
Yes, my ancestors do originate from these places, but regardless, I feel a very strong connection to the history of these lands.
So I have been in my element as I trapsed around the blustery Yorkshire moors & the Scottish Glens exploring sacred sites as well as countless castles, ancient abbies & churches, viking ruins and museums.
However, it is the Standing Stones and Stone Circles that have called me the most. I feel such a strong pull to them & always come away feeling alive & activated.
Amazingly, some of these sites have been estimated to originate back from 5000 years ago... maybe earlier.
Their true purpose is still a mystery — but many agree that they:
- Align astrologically with the sun and moon at solstices or equinoxes - like early calendars to mark agricultural and ritual times.
- Served as sacred gathering places for Ritual and Ceremony, such as seasonal festivals, funerals, and rites of passage.
- May have been places where communities came together to honour ancestors, deities, or natural cycles.
No matter what, the magic is certainly still living in these ancient stones and lands.
When I stand among them, I can sense our ancestors drawing energy from the sun, moon, and earth through the stones.
There’s a presence there — a wisdom that feels both mysterious and familiar — as if these ancient monuments still hold teachings about how to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Every time I visit, I leave feeling not only nourished but somehow awakened, as though the stones have passed on a fragment of their timeless knowledge and power.
