Our Friday Friends group has been running each Friday for the last 12 months from 4-5 pm. It’s for children aged 9-12 and open to new and existing clients. Every week is a different activity and the children have their individual and collective goals. The goals are shared with parents by the speech pathologist each week and include ongoing and new targets that may emerge each session. Contact our admin team to learn more about how they work. Wednesday and Friday afternoons we have social groups that are open to children who are building their capacity for social interactions and learning how to make and develop friendships.
Wednesday 330-430 is for 6-8 year olds and the small group is run by a speech pathologist and an allied health assistant. Goals are set each week and fun activities designed to facilitate communication and scaffold supports for each child. Contact us if you’d like some more information about joining our weekly groups. The children were enthralled with your stories and we were so appreciative of your generosity in sharing your personal items and teaching us about what they were, and are used for.

If you haven already, meet German Melo, who’s turning his long hair into a powerful symbol of support! ✂️💜

For months, German has been growing his hair out, not for style, but for something bigger—a powerful statement for children with CASK gene disorders.

On 15 July, he’s taking the leap and shaving it all off to support Angelina CASK Neurological Research Foundation (ACNRF) on CASK AWARENESS DAY. This is about raising awareness and bringing these incredible kids and their families into the light.

The last few months the kids and clinicians have been creating amazing pieces to accompany our book reading language and literacy tasks. The clients love to share their creative genius with all the e families who visit and are as proud of their work as we are. Interactive book sharing is a perfect way to learning about words both spoken and written. And most importantly - memorable and fun!
