People with higher wellbeing do better with work, health, relationships and income (Lyubomirsky et al., 2005). Reducing stress alone does not do the job. Complete wellbeing is needed for complete flourishing (Seligman, 2012). The benefits can include enhanced resilience and a buffer against stress. Employers who chose Be Your Best Now are caring for their employees.

The mundane and menial tasks of daily life aren’t barriers to happiness.
They are the 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀.
Rather than resenting them, 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.
Do them 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗹𝘆.
Focus on each step.
Be fully in the moment.
𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲.
Create simple, calming rituals around any daily routine—big or small.
Washing the dishes. Making the bed. The morning commute.
It’s not about the task; it’s about the 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁.
A lot of your wellbeing—and your happiness—lives here.
In the present moment.
In the small things, done with care.
And if that’s not enough, you’ll still have the quiet satisfaction of doing it well—and a life that feels just a little more in order.

Be Your Best Now®: Elevating Wellbeing Through Presence

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to fall into autopilot—rushing through tasks, conversations, and experiences without truly being present. But what if we made a conscious choice to slow down and give our full attention to each moment?

At Be Your Best Now®, we believe in the transformative power of mindfulness. When we approach life with awareness—fully engaged rather than mechanically moving through our day—we unlock deeper connections, clearer thinking, and a greater sense of fulfilment.

It’s not about adding more to your plate; it’s about shifting how you experience what’s already there. Whether it’s a conversation, a meal, or a simple walk outside, being truly present can make all the difference.

Let’s take a step toward a more intentional life. What’s one way you bring mindfulness into your day?

Quokkas!! How cute are they..

Amazingly, in modern life we don’t seem to focus enough on the pursuit of inner contentment and genuine wellbeing.

The list below is simple, but a useful reminder of why to put it at the top of our goals.

A simple but powerful message! A life-changer, in fact.

Every now and then, be totally aware. Notice, and dwell upon sights, sounds, smells and physical sensations.

Get out of “default mode” and make a conscious choice as to where you place your attention.

I need green. It helps me calm, breathe and reenergise.

Did you know……There is compelling evidence to support the advice of Thoreau and Murray to spend time in nature. Exposure to natural environments has been shown to improve performance on working memory, cognitive flexibility, and attentional control tasks. These results come from studies conducted using a variety of simulated environments (e.g. images, sounds, virtual reality) as well as real world environmental exposure. (Extract from Sage journals, understanding nature and its cognitive benefits (Schertz et al., 2018; Stanford et al., 2019; Stevenson et al., 2018)).

This is one of my favourite walks and this morning my wife spoilt me with a 45minute walk together in Frankston botanical gardens.

it’s simple pleasures ❤️

There is a great buzz about the Convention Centre Melbourne as Naarm hosts the first World Health Summit Regional Meeting in Australia!!

Feeling fortunate to listen to and meet some of our great thinkers and leaders in the field of health in the Asia and Pacific Region.

The Summit started on a high with an inspiring opening ceremony and welcomes.  As Dr Sandro Demaio said “it’s about collaboration and shared learning”.

Taylor Swift, you have won us over! With just 2 sentences.....

At her concert at the MCG, Taylor Swift said:

"Ohh Melbourne just look at you, look at you! I'm just taking a mental picture for myself. Just for any time, any time that I'm sad. I'm just gonna, just gonna remember all of this tonight I got to look at one Friday night in Melbourne ..."

In these lines, Taylor Swift included two important wellbeing points for her thousands of adoring fans:

She normalised the feeling of sadness by sharing that even a star like her has "down" moments.

She gave a useful tip, which is to take a mental snapshot of a good time or experience for later recall when needed. We refer to it under the headings of “savouring" and "mental snapshots".

Now this is the sort of messaging that Be Your Best Now welcomes.
