📣 Just Out of the Moon Boot?
Here’s What Comes Next Before You Return to
Sport 🏃🏻♀️
Coming out of a moon boot is a big milestone — but it’s not the finish line!
Before jumping back into sport, your body needs to rebuild strength, mobility, and stability to make sure you can perform and to reduce your risk of re-injury.
Here’s what we focus on in physio:
✅ Restoring Range of Motion - After weeks in a boot, your ankle will be stiff and your calf will be tight. We work to get your normal movement back.
✅ Rebuilding Strength - Muscles around your ankle, calf, and foot weaken fast. Your whole leg will also generally be weaker after altered use. Targeted exercises are key.
✅ Balance & Proprioception - Your body needs to relearn how to stabilise itself on that leg.
✅ Sport-Specific Loading - Running, jumping, cutting, jumping, hopping — it all needs a gradual and guided return.
✅ Confidence & Function - Physical readiness is only half of it. You also need to trust your body again.
📆 Every injury is different. A tailored plan = a safer and faster return to play.
