🔥 Women’s Health Week – Day 4: From Pain to Power
💪🏽 Say Yes to You – your body, your story, your strength.

Too many women live with chronic pain or invisible illness, and are told it's “just in your head” or that you're “too sensitive.” That ends here.

You know your body. You know your pain. And you deserve to be heard.

Today, say YES to:
✔️ Trusting what your body is telling you
✔️ Speaking up — even when it’s hard
✔️ Finding support from mob and trusted care

Let’s break the silence, raise our voices, and stand together — from pain to power, from being dismissed to being believed.

Your story matters. Your voice is medicine. You are not alone.

September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a lifelong disability caused by alcohol exposure during pregnancy. There is no safe amount, no safe time, and no safe type of alcohol during pregnancy.

Every choice matters — choosing to go alcohol-free while pregnant is a powerful step toward giving your baby the healthiest start in life.

Women’s Health Week – Day 3: Be Heart Smart
❤️ Say Yes to You – and to a stronger, healthier heart.

Heart disease is the one of the leading causes of death for women — but too often, our signs are missed, ignored, or misunderstood. It’s time to change that.

👣 Take the lead on your heart health today:

Get your blood pressure checked regularly.
Know your cholesterol levels.
Move your body.
Cut down on salt and processed foods.
Prioritise rest.
Eat a heart healthy diet.
Stay hydrated- drink plenty of water.
Get quality sleep.
Don't smoke or v**e.
Limit alcohol.

Strong hearts keep strong communities. Your heart matters — to you, your mob, your future.

Say YES to looking after it. 💖

Women’s Health Week – Day 2: Take the Lead
“Say Yes to You” – with strength, with pride.

You know your body, your story, and your spirit best.

Be proud to speak up, ask questions, and stand strong in your health journey. Your voice has power — in every setting, every community, every conversation.

Aboriginal Yarning Group

At our most recent Yarning Group gathering, we had the privilege of welcoming Xavier Passi and Camila Kairuz Santos from The George Institute. They joined us to listen and learn from community members as they shared their experiences with both Aboriginal and mainstream healthcare.

Xavier and Camila are leading important research focused on “Improving quality care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children through the decolonisation of healthcare.” Their work aims to support the development of more inclusive, culturally safe, and respectful healthcare practices that lead to better outcomes for our communities.

A special thank you to the wonderful team at the Yarradamarra Centre for generously hosting our Yarning Groups in their space.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who shared their stories, insights, and voices during this powerful conversation. Together, we continue to work towards a future where healthcare is equitable, culturally grounded, and accessible for all.

It’s Women’s Health Week!

This week is all about the Women — your health, your strength, your well-being.

From physical check-ups to mental wellness, it's time to 'Say Yes to You' and put your health first.

This week we are highlighting and empowering women to prioritise their health – physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Because when women are well, families, communities, and the world thrive.
