🍿🎬👀 Have you seen the new Daredevil trailer? Josh breaks it down for us below! 👀🎬🍿

Hey guys, today I’m back with another post. This time a trailer breakdown for something that I’ve been really looking forward to, Daredevil Born Again. This is a reboot/continuation of one of if not my favourite TV show of all time, Daredevil.

So the trailer begins with a shot of Matt Murdock in his original Daredevil costume beating up criminals before we see a closeup of his face and mask. We then see Matt sitting at a table at a diner saying “Thank you for finding the time.”. We then cut to a few action shots of Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin absolutely brutalising a bunch of people before cutting back to the diner as Wilson is seen responding to Matt saying “Well, I will admit it’s not entirely unpleasant seeing you again.”. This likely means that at least early on in the show Matt and Fisk have reached some form of peace which’ll obviously come crashing down.

We then see Matt with his partners Foggy Nelson and Karen Page as Fisk says “A lot of time has passed. By the look of it you’ve come up in the world.” to which Matt responds “I could say the same about you.”. This likely means that Fisk has at least publicly given up his life of crime in exchange for pursuing a life of politics as mayor which he expressed interest in at the end of the Echo series. Fisk then says “A mayor serves his city. I can see you’re not entirely convinced.” meaning that Matt is clearly still just waiting for Fisk to inevitably slip up and renter the criminal underworld as Matt responds “Can you blame me?”. We then see someone painting anti Fisk street art before we see Fisk in his iconic white suit killing someone in rage.

Matt then responds to Fisk “I can’t shake the feeling that you’re gaming the system.” to which Fisk says “Why did you stop being a vigilante?”. Matt responds “A line was crossed.”, considering Daredevil’s no killing rule it’s not hard to guess what line that is. Fisk then says “It’s hard to come to terms with a violent nature. Hating the power it has over us.” Along with the voiceover we see a few action shots revealing that this series will be just as brutal and violent as the original.

We then see Benjamin Pointdexter aka Bullseye being escorted through a prison as Matt says “This city can’t go unchecked.” as Fisk responds “Sometimes peace needs to be broken and chaos must reign.” as we see a shot of Pointdexter in his Bullseye costume throwing a smoke bomb. We then see a shot of a new villain, Muse, before seeing Fisk with his wife, Vanessa having dinner.

We then see someone lunging at Matt and slamming him against a locker before Matt shouts “Frank!” revealing that this is Frank Castle aka the Punisher. Matt asks “Mind putting the hatchet down?” before Frank tosses it. Matt then says “I was raised to believe in grace.”. We then see a few action shots including one of new villain, White Tiger suiting up. We then see Matt about to suit up as Daredevil, showing a closet full of different masks including the yellow one last seen in She Hulk, a black one and a grey one along with the usual red while he continues “But I was also raised to believe in retribution.”.

We then see a few more action shots including one especially brutal one of Matt breaking someone’s arm while we see two different shots of him screaming in rage both in how Matt Murdock attire and his Daredevil suit before cutting to the title card with original series theme being played on an organ, a reference to Matt’s Catholicism.

Daredevil Born Again is due to begin streaming March 4th this year on Disney +. The series will star Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Matt’s love interest, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Matt’s ex and law partner, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Matt’s best friend and partner, Kamar de los Reyes as White Tiger, Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan, Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel’s father, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Pointdexter aka Bullseye, a former FBI agent who’d able to use pretty much anything as a deadly weapon, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka Punisher, a former military vet and vigilante, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin and of course Charlie Cox aka lawyer and vigilante, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, the Daredevil himself.

🎬🍿👀 Check it out - Josh returns for the first review of the year! 👀🍿🎬

Hey guys, today I’m back with yet another review, this time for the prequel/sequel to the 2019 remake of The Lion King titled Mufasa The Lion King.

Mufasa The Lion King follows the events of the first movie as Nala and Simba prepare for the birth of their second cub, leaving their daughter Kiara with Rafiki, Timon and Pumba while Rafiki tells Kiara the story of her grandfather, Simba’s father, Mufasa. I really enjoyed this movie. Sure it wasn’t as good as The Lion King but I think most people would agree that movie’s pretty hard to top.

Mufasa The Lion King stars Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino as Simba, Beyoncé as Nala, Blue Ivy Carter, Beyoncé’s real daughter as Kiara, Simba and Mufasa’s daughter, John Kani and Kagiso Lediga as old and young Rafiki respectively, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumba, Tiffany Boone as young Sarabi, Mufasa’s future wife, Kelvin Harrison Jr and Theo Somolu as adult and cub Taka respectively, Mufasa’s adoptive brother who later becomes known as Scar, Thandiwe Newton as Eshe (being an Aussie I struggled not to laugh at that name), Taka’s mother and Mufasa’s adoptive mother, Lennie James as Obasi, Taka’s father and Mufasa’s adoptive father, Preston Nyman as young Zazu, Keith David as Masego, Mufasa’s biological father, Anika Noni Rose as Afia, Mufasa’s biological mother, Mads Mikkelsen as Kiros, a white lion who wants to take over the Pride Lands and of course Braelyn and Brielle Rankins and Aaron Pierre as cub and adult Mufasa respectively, an orphan taken in by Taka and his family who later becomes king of the pride lands. The original Mufasa himself, the late James Earl Jones even has a voice cameo through archive recordings of his voice as a tribute to his memory. Pretty much every actor does a great job with their roles, not a single bad performance. Sure, Pierre doesn’t quite live up to Earl Jones but he does a decent enough job and so does Harrison Jr as Taka, almost making you feel bad for him despite a majority of the audience already knowing his future.

The film was directed by Barry Jenkins who did a great job with this film. I enjoyed every second of it especially with the beautiful visuals and all the fan service call backs to the original film which I personally loved.

The music was composed by Dave Metzger with original songs by Lin Manuel Miranda. Both men did a great job with the music for this film. I’ve loved everything I’ve seen of Miranda’s work, he’s one of my favourite recent song writers. Though I will say there isn’t really any particular stand out songs compared to The Lion King which obviously has quite a few iconic songs, though I did have a few favoured being I Always Wanted a Brother and Tell Me It’s You, essentially Thai film’s counterpart to I Just Cant Wait to be King and Can You Feel the Love Tonight? respectively.
