Positive Living Skills PLS equips early learning and primary school educators with mental wellbeing resources and programs.

Positive Living Skills offers evidence based resources lessons and programs that are mapped to existing national early childhood and primary school curriculums and support teachers schools and early learning services to teach mental wellbeing. If we collaborate we can prevent mental illness before it emerges, and teach children to be kind to themselves and others and how to look after their own mental health. Our programs also support positive behaviour strategies with resources that reach home to families.

The most powerful tool we can give a child?
The ability to regulate their emotions. 🧠💛

That’s why PossA Bill, our Positive Living Skills mascot, plays such a big role in teaching children how to recognise, express, and manage big feelings in healthy ways.

Every child deserves a space to feel safe. 💗
A Calm Down Corner isn’t about time-out — it’s about tuning in.
Creating a space for big feelings teaches kids that emotions are normal, and self-regulation is a skill they can grow.

Not every feeling needs a fix — just a safe space. 💛
When we validate children’s emotions instead of rushing to change them, we teach them that all feelings are okay.
That they are okay.

This simple shift builds trust, emotional resilience, and stronger relationships — both at school and at home.

Compassion is a skill — and it starts young. 💛
On World Humanitarian Day, we honour the helpers. The carers. The people who step up in times of need and remind us what it means to be human.

At Positive Living Skills, we believe that kindness, empathy, and community care aren’t just traits — they’re teachable, powerful life skills.

Book an adventure — through the pages of a story. 📚✨
Books spark imagination, build empathy, and help children explore worlds beyond their own — and sometimes, deep within themselves too.

At Positive Living Skills, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and inspired… and books are a beautiful bridge to make that happen.

So let’s celebrate the magic of storytelling this Book Week — where will your next adventure take you?

Big feelings don’t have to feel overwhelming.
When we help children name what they’re feeling, we give them power over the experience — instead of feeling powerless in it.

Building these skills leads to lifelong emotional intelligence. 💛

Today we honour the world’s First Nations Peoples — the original custodians of land, language, and culture.

At Positive Living Skills, we are committed to learning from and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and embedding respect, connection, and truth-telling into the way we support children’s wellbeing.

🖤💛❤️
Let’s continue to listen deeply, teach respectfully, and walk together toward a future grounded in understanding and unity.

Let’s teach kids to notice the good. 🌈
PLS Highlights help children connect with the positive — in themselves, their friendships, their day, and the world around them.
It’s more than gratitude… it’s building emotional resilience through meaningful reflection and positive focus.

When we shine a light on what’s going well, that light grows brighter. ✨

It starts with small hands and big hearts. 💚
This Keep Australia Beautiful Week, we’re reminding our young learners that caring for the planet starts with everyday actions — picking up litter, respecting nature, and taking pride in the world around us.
When children learn to value their environment, they grow into adults who protect it. 🌿

Let’s nurture respect — for self, others, and the world we share.

Our Story

An average of eight Australians take their own lives every day, and the number of young people experiencing anxiety and depression continues to rise, with the age of these diagnoses getting younger and younger.

On top of this educators are experiencing more and more burn out and are deciding to leave the profession in higher and higher numbers.

A preventative approach that supports children, educators and families is needed so that communities can thrive, and this approach must not add any additional work for teachers.

The Positive Living Skills initiative is focused on supporting Early Learning Centres and Primary School to lead a culture of emotional wellbeing in their communities.
