The Special Olympics WA 2025 State Games kick off on Saturday 18 October – and we want you to be part of the celebration!

- LETR Torch Relay and Cauldron Lighting
- Try your hand at new sports with Come & Try athletics and Bocce
- Free heart health checks thanks to Heartbeat of Football
- Collect your limited-edition State Games drink bottle
- Uniform Swap – bring one, take one!
- Grab a bite from the food truck on site

Thanks to the two new participants who attended the swimming program tonight. It was wonderful to see new people. The swimming program will now take place every Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm for individuals aged 8 years and above, all swimming ability welcome 🏊.

We are pleased to announce some exciting news. Two of our athletes, Troy O'Neill and Nichole Wells, were chosen to attend athlete leadership training in Perth in early August. Congratulations to Troy and Nichole - we at Special Olympics Goldfields are very proud of them. As part of their leadership responsibilities, Troy will coach our basketball program, while Nichole will assist with swimming coaching, support the committee, mentor junior athletes, and support Special Olympics WA at state games and other events as required 🤗
