Our Hummingbird logo honours Daniel Haslam.

Dan is the reason for the creation of United in Compassion and the organisation’s aim to achieve legal access of Medicinal Cannabis for all Australians who need it.

A promise made to Dan, by his mother Lucy.

The photography of Jeff Scheetz captures images of wild hummingbirds hovering over flowering Cannabis.

“The Hummingbird symbolises great courage, determination and is a totem of fearlessness, and represents lightness of being. The Hummingbird is a symbol of all things good.”

Tomorrow, February 24 2025, is the 10th anniversary of Dan's death.

Many will take a quiet moment to reflect on more than a decade of advocacy, love and loss. Profound loss.

Dan and the Haslam Family are at the centre of all that we do. Last night, in 50 shades of green and with a good measure of poignancy, we commemorated and celebrated.

With love, gratitude and compassion we wish Lucy and her courageous, generous and much loved and respected family peace and happiness beyond this decade of change in the landscape of .

Ride for a cause

This afternoon, Veterans and First Responders with PTDS rode into the Brisbane venue after a journey from Tamworth via Coffs Harbour and Killarney to commemorate Medicinal Cannabis Awareness Week.

The Australian Medicinal Cannabis Symposium started back in 2014 by Dan and Lucy, when Dan was fighting for legalisation and dying of Stage 4 Bowel Cancer.

February 24th will mark the 10th anniversary of Dan's death. With love and compassion we remember a remarkable young man and we wrap our arms around Lucy, Lou and the Haslam Family.

If you are not a member of the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association, what's stopping you?

The Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association (AMCA) was founded in mid-2020 by a group of pioneers, ambassadors and stakeholders from the breadth of the medicinal cannabis sector working together to improve patient access and to support and advocate for the Australian medicinal cannabis industry.

AMCA provides the framework and support for the association to assist committed individuals and organisations to steer the industry and sector in a positive direction. We believe it is essential to have a broad mix of members with a wide skill set to meet the evolving needs of the medicinal cannabis industry.

AMCA members include patients, healthcare professionals, clinics, researchers, medicinal cannabis cultivators and manufacturers, professional service providers (legal, financial, IT, consultants), and allied service providers (e.g. manufacturing equipment suppliers, testing laboratories).

It's easy to join and the fee structure means there is an option for everyone.

If you are at this weekend, head over to Pavilion C and find the wonderful Peta Hazell, Membership Officer. Look for the AMCA stall near the middle of the room. Peta can answer all your questions and help you complete the process or jump on line.

Thank you

A further $200,000.00 is needed to bring this project to life.

What will it take?
$1000 donated by 200 people or $200 donated by 1000 people?

Let's aim to meet this target this weekend.
