Moving time means the focus needs to shift. Scaling things back for the time being.
So appreciative of everyone who has tuned into this space and what I’ve shared.

Ever notice how students often default to copying others in class?

Not because they’re disconnected.
Not because they don’t care.
But because that’s what we’ve all been conditioned to do.

This pattern shows up everywhere — not just in yoga.
It’s herd mentality.
The instinct to follow the group. Conform. Perform. Fit in.
Because somewhere along the way, we learned that’s what keeps us safe.

But yoga isn’t about playing it safe.
It’s about remembering who you are underneath all that noise.

When we create space for students to pause and notice their choices, something powerful shifts.

Try asking them (or weaving it into your cues):
👉 Am I doing this because I think I should?
👉 Because everyone else is doing it?
👉 Or because I’m genuinely curious to see how it feels for me?

That moment of inquiry is where real practice begins.

You don’t need to micromanage your students to help them feel empowered.
You just need to bring awareness to the patterns they’re already caught in—and invite them to explore something different.

If you want to learn more about teaching yoga in a way that doesn’t demand obedience… but invites presence, comment IGNITE and I will send you my free mini cueing course, The Secrets To Impactful Cueing.

I’ve seen the term “whitewashing yoga” used more as a weapon than a bridge—and it’s crystal clear to me that it is not solution oriented.

These are so many reasons why I don’t subscribe to this label—and why I believe healing starts with clarity, conversation and ownership, not blame.

Yoga isn’t a static thing. It’s a living practice. It’s constantly evolving with the times. And it doesn’t matter how traditional you think your yoga is, there is going to be someone who is going further back than you in yoga’s history, teaching what was common at that time, and they’ll have every leg to stand on telling you that your traditional yoga isn’t as traditional as theirs. It’s ridiculous.

Can we still teach yoga’s essence and respect its history without turning on each other?

Are we capable of talking about our concerns openly, without throwing around loaded labels or clinging to buzzwords that shut the conversation down before it even begins?

Can we sit with the macro view of collective healing, and hold space for pain, injustice, and concern without collapsing into blame, division or labels that keep us stuck?

Can we acknowledge what’s been harmed while staying committed to the deeper responsibility of moving forward, together?

I haven’t seen much of this happening in the yoga industry. And as teachers I think it’s time we stepped the f&%k up!

Not only will your students be more inclined to explore what’s right for them, but you as a teacher will feel more fulfilled in your purpose of making a big impact on their lives and guiding them towards generating a deeper connection with themselves.

Although I used to be a fan, I can no longer get on board with forceful hands-on adjustments in yoga. Over time, I’ve come to realize that these kinds of assists provide superficial empowerment and artificial confidence for students.

Often as teachers we think that our ability to provide hands on adjustments to our students is a hallmark of a skilled teacher. But IMO it’s more about your ability to communicate in other ways that teaches students to take ownership of their practice, so they can experience the true depth of yoga: a practice that transforms from within, rather than being imposed from the outside.

If you’re pouring your heart into building an online yoga biz but feel like you’re just throwing spaghetti at the wall…you are so not alone.

I used to think that passion and a solid in-person following were enough to make it work online.

But I learned (the hard way) that without research and clarity, it’s easy to spend months building something no one asked for.

I made the mistake of creating offers, a website, and content without truly knowing who I was speaking to—or what they even needed.

And the truth?
I didn’t even know how to figure that out.

The real shift happened when I finally stopped trying to do it all alone and got support.

That’s when I found Impact Academy—and everything shifted for me.

I finally had structure, strategy, and guidance.
No more guessing. No more spinning in circles. Just clear steps and support from people who actually get it.

🔗If you’re in that messy middle right now, wondering if what you’re building is really going to land…go to the link in my bio.

You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself, trust me, there’s a smarter, more supported way!
