It's Beltane! Happy high spring, season of fecundity, celebration, and blooming 🌺🌱🌈🌞 May this season bring into bloom that which brings you joy and delight ✨
Beltane comes from a pagan Celtic tradition, from colonial lands. Aboriginal people have been marking and celebrating the seasons on this beautiful land for well over 65,000 years 🙏🏻🌌. Sovereignty has never been ceded: always was, always will be. We can mark the season by giving thanks for this land, acknowledging the country you live on, learning about it, and learning how to love it. It loves you back 🫶🏻🐦.
I'm grateful to live and work on the lands of the Wurundjeri and the Dja Dja Wurrung people.
While many celebrate Halloween this time of year, this in fact is an occasion at home in the northern hemisphere, where they are entering the cold, dark season 🦇 And, this green witch gets a little bee in her bonnet about the seasonal miss-match 🤪 . I've tempered with age - don't worry I'm not here to spoil anyone's fun! I _am_ here to share the joys and benefits of living seasonally. To me, health is about living with awareness, attention and attunement to our internal and external seasons. These don't always necessarily align - we may have a lot of energy in winter, or feel super flat one summer. However, attending to the seasonal shifts around us can support us to be in balance with our environment, and have flow ok effects of balancing our internal environment.
High spring, or Beltane, calls for lively celebration of our growth points! What are you bringing into being, what are you watering? Pour some love on it! Pour affection on your loved ones, including yourself! What creativity can you bring to your self care this season?
