Can you help us complete this collection? 📣
The Library holds almost every single copy of The Dawn, one of Australia’s first magazines for women.
Founded by Australian poet Louisa Lawson, The Dawn covered a range of topics, from women's voting rights and raising the age of consent, to the proper care of gloves and home improvement tips.
While delving into the collection, visiting scholar Michelle Scott Tucker discovered that a number of issues were missing from 1888, the year the magazine started.
Today on the anniversary of Louisa Lawson’s death we're asking you to search your cupboards, sheds and boxes for The Dawn.
If you have any copies from 1888 we'd love to hear from you!
