Feeling super proud and excited for myself today. I have been invited to be a member of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commision Provider Advisory Committee. This is a 12-month position, and I am over the moon and filled with gratitude for being offered an opportunity to contribute to something so important, in a meaningful way that offers possibility of creating real change.

Today is World Mental Health Day.
Each year on October 10 we all have the chance to put mental health in the spotlight to raise awareness and break down stigma.
This year we have focussed on the meaningful connections in our lives, and why they are so important for good mental health.
Mental health is an issue that touches each and every one of us in different ways, and World Mental Health Day reminds us that we should be connecting with loved ones, connecting with our community and colleagues, connecting with services and supports if needed - and most importantly - connecting back with ourselves for good mental health.

Is your recruitment practice up to standard? We issued a $4,000 fine to a church for failing to verify workers’ Working with Children Check. The church allowed a barred person to continue volunteering despite being informed of the bar, saying the person was well known as a good person who was just helping out when they needed volunteers. The barred worker was ultimately removed after our investigation. Verifying Working with Children Checks is a legal requirement in child-related work. Find more information and resources in our Child Safe Recruitment handbook:
Definitely didn’t do the run part but there is always plenty of fun. Jayde and I hit the road with our little Minnie Me’s.

Riverina Family Services (RFS) was established in 2018. We recognised there was a need in the Riverina & wider community to deliver quality support services for individuals, children & families. RFS will ensure that all clients feel safe & secure in their interactions with the service, so they can concentrate on the purpose why they engaged our service.
Our team is able to deliver all aspects of parenting support, training and mentoring & support individuals and their caregivers who have an NDIS package meet their individual goals & life dreams.
Riverina Family Services (RFS) work with families to encourage positive interaction between children and their parents and to support the strengthening of these relationships. The fact is, parents and children can be separated for a variety of reasons. Separation brings difficulties and many mixed emotions.
Riverina Family Services recognise that parents find the presence of service providers in their life stressful and challenging. However, the overall aim of RFS is to assist you and your child to strengthen & build your relationship.
RFS is dedicated and committed to providing a service of choice and empowering participants on the NDIS to engage providers that can best meet their individual needs and ensure they are meeting goals and allowing for people to LIVE THEIR BEST LIFE. We will endeavour to provide services that participants want and need, matched with quality, reliability and friendly service.
