Coughing all winter? Your pelvic floor might be feeling it too.

When we’re sick, repeated coughing can increase intra-abdominal pressure. Putting strain on the pelvic floor. Over time, this can lead to fatigue, weakness, or even stress incontinence.

In this video, Courtney Weybury, our Physio and Clinic Director, shares how coughs can affect your pelvic floor and walks you through simple, functional exercises you can do at home to help strengthen and support your body during flu season.

💡 Bonus tip: Contracting your pelvic floor as you cough can help reduce the impact.

If you're unsure if you're doing it correctly or need tailored support, our team is here to guide you with individualised, evidence-based care.

Weight loss medications can be a useful tool. BUT! They’re not a replacement for your health.

In this clip, our team opens up about how injectable weight loss medications may offer support for some, but only when paired with long-term habits like movement, nourishing food, and self-compassion.

We see women every day who feel stuck between health goals and the shame that’s often tied to body image. If weight loss support is something you’re exploring, know that it doesn’t have to come at the expense of your mental health or daily well-being.

At Surf Coast Women’s Health Group, we take an individualised, non-judgmental approach to weight management and healthy lifestyle support.

💖 It’s not about shrinking your body, it’s about finding what truly helps you feel well.

💬 Chat with our GPs or dietitian if you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or curious about what’s right for you.
