All it will take from you is a little planning ahead, adding a few extra stock-items to your pantry and a desire to get healthy and stay healthy. I've been married to my amazing husband for 17 years and have two wonderful boys aged 11 and 9. We live in the beautiful Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia. About 6 years ago we began our journey to change our diet and improve our health. For us, 'Friendly Food' is mostly gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, with as little additives and preservatives as possible. I buy organic when I can and we try to eat only free range chicken and pork, or pastured beef and lamb. As a result my oldest son's eczema is almost non existent; we are no longer constantly lethargic, which means my son actually enjoys being active (and I no longer need regular day time naps!); we no longer suffer from regular bouts of 'loose bowls' or experience regular stomach pains; we no longer get long, drawn-out colds and flus multiple times a year; none of us have suffered the regular ear and chest infections we once did; and none of have needed antibiotics since. When we changed our lifestyle I was determined that we would still enjoy ALL of our food. It's taken hours of research and experimenting, but I now have an amazing collection of recipes that taste great, that everyone enjoys, that the kids love to help prepare and that keep us healthy.
