Peter and Jenni recently had some extra support with Leah to tackle the decluttering and organising that had been building up around their home. 🏠

Sometimes it's not about the big dramatic changes... it's about finally getting on top of those jobs that have been weighing on you.

You know... the ones that pile up when you're managing everything else life throws at you. ✨

Jenni told us... "I'm so grateful to Leah and all the stress has reduced so much, I feel wonderful." 💗

That's what good support does. It gives you breathing room. It helps you feel like you've got things under control again. 🙌

Whether it's decluttering, meal prepping, getting out and about, or just having someone who gets it... our support workers are here to help with the stuff that actually matters to you. 💪

If you or someone you support could use a hand with the practical things that make home life easier, give us a call on 1300 062 437 📞 or ask us a question in a DM.

Together, we can make a difference. 🤲

We've got spaces for new participants in Gympie at the moment.

If you're after support that's actually local and reliable, give Tash a call on 0474 279 472 or send her an email at tash@prcsa.com.au.

Tash is our Gympie team leader, and she's good to have a chat about what might work for you.

When it's this hot, you've got to think about support differently. 🏊‍♀️ Pool sessions before 9am while it's still bearable. ❄️ Moving things indoors where there's aircon. 💦 Making sure everyone's got water on them at all times.

Good support doesn't pretend the weather's not happening. If someone's trying to book you in for an outdoor activity at 2pm in Feb 🥵 that's just crazy.

At Pink Ribbon, we change plans based on what actually works, not just what looks good on paper.

🌳 Finding shaded parks where people can still catch up with friends.

🔄 Having a backup plan ready for when it gets too hot to be outside.

Just being sensible about it, really.

Support needs to fit with real life. Simple as that. 💧🌊

Got questions about how we handle the practical stuff? Give us a call. 📞

On Wednesday, we talked about what good support looks like on the Sunshine Coast with Trinette. Now it's Tash's turn in Gympie. 💗

After swapping hospitality for disability support, Tash worked out pretty quick that this job's not about having all the answers.

It's about helping someone feel more in control of their day-to-day life. 🙌

Actually listening when they tell you what they need.

Building independence that's real, not just for show. The difference between doing something because YOU want to, not because it's written down somewhere, like on a support plan.

Staying calm when stuff doesn't go to plan (hospitality taught her that one well 😄).

Now she's leading our Gympie crew, and Tash knows the difference between doing support and doing it properly. The participants who feel actually heard? That's what counts. Not the paperwork. Not the perfect plans. ✅

Just genuine connection and support that actually helps.

Whether it's Trinette and the team on the Sunshine Coast or Tash and the Gympie crew, same deal... see the person, not just the support plan. 👊

That's Pink Ribbon. That's us.

Back in November, Trinette told us what drew her to support work was seeing the whole person, not just their needs. Building genuine connections. 🤝

That's the thing about good support days... they're not about perfect plans or ticking boxes.

Trinette's been in this work long enough (4 years in allied health, now support work on the Sunshine Coast) to know the difference. ✨

The good days are when someone tries something they didn't think they could do. 🌟

When conversations go deeper than "how was your weekend."

When plans fall apart and you both just figure it out together.

It's learning something unexpected. Laughing at the same ridiculous thing. Being actually present, not just going through motions.

The best support doesn't look perfect. It looks real. 💬

This is why we carefully handpick who we bring onto the team, because they get it.

They see people, not cases. And we take time matching the right support worker to each participant, because connection isn't one-size-fits-all. Never has been... never will be. 🌏

We know today holds different meaning for different Australians, and we get that.

What we're clear on at Pink Ribbon is that everyone in our community matters.

Everyone deserves support. Everyone belongs. 💙

We hope your Australia Day is filled with moments that matter. ☀️🧡

⏰ Don't leave it to the last minute... because what happens when people rush their plan review is...

The goals get vague.
"I want to be more independent" sounds good, but it doesn't give the NDIA anything concrete to fund. Rushed goals = underfunded plans.

The evidence isn't ready.
Reports from your OT, support coordinator notes, therapy progress... if you're scrambling to gather this stuff the day before, you're already behind.

You don't push back.
When supports get reduced or questioned and you're unprepared, it's too easy to just accept it and hope for the best. Then you're stuck with a plan that doesn't actually cover what you need.

Look, we get it, life's busy. Plan reviews feel like just another thing on the list. But this is 12 months of funding we're talking about.

Your supports. Your goals. Your quality of life.

Starting now means you've got time to...

✅ Get your evidence together properly

✅ Think through what's actually working (and what's not)

✅ Have someone help you translate your life into NDIS language

Want help getting sorted before the rush? DM us or give us a call 📞 1300 062 437.

Because a plan review done right really is worth the effort.

In our previous post, we touched on NDIS plan reviews landing in mailboxes. Here's what we see trip people up most (and what actually matters).

So here's what actually matters when you're prepping for your plan review (and what doesn't). 🎯

MATTERS:

✅ What's changed in your life since your last plan

✅ What's working well that you want to keep

✅ What's NOT working that needs to change

✅ Your goals for the next 12 months

DOESN'T MATTER:

❌ Using fancy NDIS language

❌ Making it sound perfect

❌ Having it all figured out on your own

Your plan review is a conversation about your life. Not a test you need to pass. 📝

And if you want someone to help you prep, translate the jargon, or just be there during the meeting? That's literally what we're here for. 🙋‍♀️

Let's make your plan actually work for you... ☞ 📞 1300 062 437 or DM us 💬.

January and February are peak plan review season for NDIS participants. Which means if you're staring at that letter thinking "here we go again"... you're not alone.

Here's the thing about plan reviews: they're not just paperwork. They're your chance to actually get the supports that work for YOUR life right now.

Not what worked last year. Not what the NDIA thinks you need based on a form. What you actually need today.

If you're feeling a bit lost about where to start, or you just want someone in your corner who speaks human (not NDIS jargon), give us a shout.

The NDIS is moving toward automation... but we're not. ❌

While some providers are getting excited about AI-generated support plans, we're still doing it the old-fashioned way.

Talking. Listening. Actually getting to know you.

Your support plan shouldn't come from an algorithm that's never met you, never heard your story, and has zero clue what a good life looks like for you specifically.

Here at Pink Ribbon, every plan starts with a real conversation.

We take the time because that's how you build trust. That's how you create support that actually works. 🤝

Automation might be cheaper... faster, even, but it'll never replace the human who remembers your favourite food, the music you like... and with supports... understands what you want and need, and genuinely cares about your quality of life. ❤️

You deserve better than being processed like a data point.

There's this idea that support work is one-directional. We show up, we help, we leave. 🤝

But anyone who's done this work knows it's not like that at all. 💗

This is what our team learns every single day:

How to slow down. How to really listen. That a good day doesn't have to be a big day. And that being yourself - actually yourself... is way more valuable than being polished." 💬

Our participants teach us resilience without the inspirational poster. Honesty without the filter. And how to find meaning in a Wednesday afternoon that looks exactly like the one before it. ✨

We're better humans for knowing them. 🩷

Honest question for a Monday… what helps you ease back into the week? Slow start, routine, lists, or winging it? 💬

We're curious because everyone's got their own way of getting Monday sorted.

Some of our team swear by their morning coffee and a to-do list.

Others? They're taking it one task at a time and seeing where the day goes.

There's no right answer... just what works for you.

Drop a comment and let us know your Monday style. 🗣️
