⏰ “Why can’t my kid just stay on schedule?”

If this sounds familiar, your child might be experiencing something called time agnosia — a brain-based difficulty with perceiving time.

🧠 It’s not defiance. It’s not laziness.
It’s how some kids are wired — and with the right tools, they can thrive. 💪

Swipe through to learn:
👉 What time agnosia looks like
👉 Why it’s often misunderstood
👉 How you can support your child with empathy and structure

You’re not alone — and your child isn’t broken. ❤️

They just need the right support.

📚 Equity vs. Equality in the Classroom

They’re not the same—and understanding the difference makes all the difference.

🎓 Equality = Sameness
Every student gets the same resources, support, and time—regardless of their needs.
✏️ Sounds fair… but is it really?

⚖️ Equity = Fairness
Students get what they need to succeed—even if that looks different from others.
🎯 It’s about leveling the playing field.

📖 Example:
Equality = Everyone gets the same textbook.
Equity = One student gets large print, another an audiobook, another extra time.
🧰 Different tools, same goal: everyone participates fully.

🌍 Classrooms are filled with diverse needs:
🧠 Learning & communication differences
🌈 Language barriers
💬 Emotional regulation

🎯 Equity meets students where they are.

📷 Imagine a group of people trying to see over a fence:
Same stool? Only some can see.
The right-sized stool for each? Everyone gets the view.

💡 Equity fosters inclusion, access, and opportunity for all learners.

🗣 What does equity look like in your classroom?

What are the benefits/strengths of ADHD?

With the right supports in place, ADHD children and adults can harness their strengths, such as:
- creativity
- hyperfocus
- energy
- curiosity
- empathy.

We acknowledge that ADHD brings many challenges. With or without a diagnosis, ADHDers learn from a young age to be self-aware, hardworking and resilient.

This invaluable life experience and different way of thinking can be a true strength!

⭐️Applications close 24 June.⭐️

Thanks to generous support from Telethon7 Perth and the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, Therapy Focus is offering a free early intervention program for children aged 2-5 years who have learning difficulties and developmental delay.

First Focus aims to ease the transition to kindergarten or pre-primary by helping children gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive in a school environment. Weekly group sessions held during Term 3 will help familiarise children with classroom settings and routines, encourage social interactions, and support the development of essential skills to ensure a strong start to their educational journey.

The program will run from our play-based therapy clinic in Osborne Park and is available to children who:
✔️ Are 2-5 years old
✔️ Have learning difficulties or developmental delays
✔️ Are not accessing the NDIS or government-funded therapy services
✔️ Are not attending full-time school

For more info and to apply visit https://therapyfocus.org.au/first-focus/.

Applications to the program close 24 June, 2024.

❤️🌸Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers.

“To the stay at home Mothers, the working Mamas, the Mamas of multiples, the Mamas of one heart.

The single Mamas, The survivors, the Mamas breaking family cycles and healing trauma.

The mothers who are learning and growing and doing their best.

The mothers who have found their tribe and the Mothers more isolated than ever.

The step Mamas, the hopeful Mamas, the grieving Mamas.

The Mamas with empty arms or empty nests.

The soon to be Mamas and the Mamas fatigued by a long journey to motherhood.

To the mothers who navigate unknown landscapes in hopes of freedom with their children in arms. The mothers holding their babies close in the midst of war and terror.

The Mama who is up all night.

The Mama who is without a Mother of her own.

The mother basking in post birth bliss and the one struggling with post natal depression.

We’re all in this together despite what our paths may look like. May we journey together in solidarity and affection and in support and admiration for each other this Mothers Day and every day.”
