I am completely shellshocked. On Monday the front of the street was double parked out as a whole tribe of support muscled in and emptied out the entire practice. In 3.5 hours we literally moved the whole house and stacked it like tetris gurus into my cabin. Just like that, over, my practice gone. I was in tears initially, overwhelmed and feeling the intensity of the decision I was forced to make.💔😭

Honestly, the 3 men and 3 women who initiated helping me are angels. So much kindness. 🙏 Two vans, two utes with trailers, a fwd and trailer and my car all packed out. 😳 Feeling this supported and cared for means the world. Now for the daunting task of going through 16 years worth of stuff.😳😳😳

In the meantime, if anyone would like to rent my gorgeous little house or knows someone looking for a charming home with beautiful healing energy to live in, DM me.🕊️

It was so special to spend these last closing moments with our delightful Kathryn. This video is so amusing and captures her warmth, quirkiness and unwavering support.

May I just say how truly wonderful this woman is?! She's been the pure joy you meet as soon as you enter the practice, serving our community for 3 years.
Her attentiveness in caring for me has been extraordinary. It has meant so much to have someone to walk out with in the night after long days with patients instead of being a lone pack horse loaded up with laptops and bags. She's held me in hugs in lunchbreaks when life's been brutal with so much loss and grief. She's celebrated the heck out of our triumphs, like when Nat came back. 🥰🙏

Kat goes above and beyond, she's protective, has a strong sense of justice and has honoured us all. I have witnessed her push herself to her edges for this business, like when training our new secretary diligently for 2 months at the end of last year for it all to not work out. When I was recently drowning with no admin support Kat volunteered to help despite being tied up with homeschooling. She whole heartedly cares for us all.

Upon sharing the news I had to close I saw it break her heart because she loves this community and this practice so sincerely. Kat has ridden the waves with us and is my trusty life jacket. Life reveals who our true friends are and so too does business. I treasure you Kat, like a precious gem. Thank you for all that you are and all you have been to me. We've got each other's backs for life. Xox

The 30th of May to me is the day of endings and new beginnings. It's Azrae's birthday! It's the exact same day my beloved therapy dog Archie and my Granddad died. So as we wished Azrae a happy 9th birthday I closed the doors on my business after 16 years of caring for this community. I've been a whole cauldron of emotions. 😳💔🌷

I'm so grateful for the support I have had to get through this very challenging time. I envisioned myself collapsing on my knees all alone in my now empty practice crying after my last patient left. However, my parents surprised me and snuck in with party hats and whistles and shocked the socks off me when I finished with my last patient. I am so so so fortunate to have their loving support along with the love of this community. 🙏❤️

I was delighted to share the moment with my kindred spirits Kathryn, Erin, Sarah and sweet Lilah. Azrae was terrified of the whistles and refused to cooperate for photos without bribing with after work chips (Kat and my equivalent of after work drinks;).

Our Practice is Temporarily Closing for an Extended Period of Time as of May 30th...

Can you believe it is 16 years that we have been looking after our wonderful community with high quality chiropractic and neurological care!?

As an enthusiastic 22 year old, I chose to settle in Clarence Town with a passion to provide alternative healthcare for a country community.

What an incredible journey it has been! Witnessing massive transformations in our patients, seeing their improved vitality and quality of life has been so inspiring!

I absolutely adore you and this community and it has been the toughest decision to step back for a while. This business is like my child, having poured years of creating, prioritising, sacrificing and fuelling everything I had into it.

Now, after seemingly relentless challenges and life's hardships, I have to step away for an extended period of time.

Our beloved chiropractor Natalie needs to focus on her own blossoming business in Newcastle.

Finding chiropractors to work in a country setting is extremely difficult so I have had to re-evaluate my situation.

Since the horse accident where 500kgs landed on my pelvis, I cannot provide the chiropractic care the way I used to, I am physically unable to care for all the patients. Additionally, without the necessary front desk support I simply cannot run the practice single-handedly.

THANK YOU for the unwavering support you have given over these years. Our dear previous chiro Karli said that having worked in practices all over Australia, Clarence Town has always been her absolute favourite because the people are so genuinely wonderful.

To CELEBRATE 16 years of service we are hosting a party at the practice on Friday 31st May from 4:30-6:30pm so please come share hugs and stories! Natalie, Andy, Kathryn and I would absolutely LOVE to see you there!

Your continued chiropractic care is still so important, I suggest these options:
1. Drive for the quality of care you receive from Natalie and her husband Andy at their gorgeous Whitebridge practice. Call Awaken Chiropractic on 4950 9410.

2. For a more local practice with a chiro who practices similarly to us we recommend Hunter Healthy Spines in East Maitland and suggest seeing Kelly Beanland. Mention you come from our practice.

3. For neuro patients, there is no-one qualified with a DACNB in functional neurology in the Hunter-Newcastle area. So, for tricky neuro cases I suggest seeing my brilliant mentor Stephanos Kassabalis at Southside Functional Chiropractic in Kogarah (9099 1166) who does intensives like they do in the brain centres in America. Another option is my wonderful neurology lecturing colleague Brent Gordon at Shirley Road Chiropractic in Crows Nest (9966 0992).

“So, what is your plan Bron?” people keep curiously asking. Planning and change take energy, currently I am so intensely depleted.

My only plan is to recover from 16 years of taking care of so many people, running a business, a farm and enduring life’s arduous challenges. I will restore my energy and find stable support to enable reinventing my future contribution to people’s health.

After fifteen years of post-graduate functional neurological studies, I understand the importance of what I know, do and share and the impact it has on people’s lives, especially children’s. I love what I do, so, I won’t disappear forever, just for now.

As of May 31st the phone will no longer be tended to. Emails will sporadically be checked for necessary communication.

I look forward to sharing with you what is created in the future.

Season's greetings, ends of seasons and new beginnings... We farewell our beloved Kat after 3 years of her caring for our community, being a multitasking queen and a jovial beaming light in our practice as she embarks on homeschooling her kiddies. We welcome sweet and clever Molly and are excited to have a local in our team. Tomorrow is Kat's last day (although there's a tendency for staff to be boomerangs here and return over the years;) so pop in to wish her all the best. ☺️

Our LOCATION: Our charming health practice is located in the outer Hunter Valley in Clarence Town at 46 Grey Street, about 50 minutes from Newcastle and 30 minutes from Maitland.

POSITION: Chiropractic Assistant. This two day per week casual role requires efficient multitasking, processing payments and phone calls, making appointments, administration such as structuring calendar schedules, responding to emails and balancing daily income, assisting practitioners with patient care, running tech equipment, maintaining practice professional presentability, ordering stock and interacting with our lovely community of patients. This candidate would have to be able to start the role by January, sooner if possible.

MUST HAVES:
· The ability to manage tasks that require attention to detail promptly and with accuracy
· Great verbal and written communication skills
· A warm and engaging personality
· Excellent organisational skills, great memory and initiative
· The ability to quickly and accurately learn new technology systems (must be "tech savvy")
· Great ability to follow structure with procedures and protocols
The ability to interact with practitioners and clients in a frequently fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, patient, proactive, resourceful and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is essential to this role. Being adaptable to the needs of the business regarding work hours is necessary, as is the willingness to work after school hours when the practice is often busiest.

We are a high-performing team of individuals who are all dedicated to health, wellbeing, personal growth and love having fun while we’re at it! We are only looking for A-level candidates.

Bed sharing. It does a whole heap of mischief to your spine, particularly if you have a little resident acrobat who toddles in through the night and flips about being a bed hog.
When your spine is out of alignment, it is more prone to pain, arthritic changes and injury. If your posture isn't great, if you work in sustained positions for prolonged periods like at a desk, your spine is definitely unhappy, even if it's currently not screaming at you. Don't wait til it gets to an inflamed state, prevention is better than cure. Head in for an adjustment and get your happy back. 😜

Just a reminder that pain is feedback from the body that something needs attention! Are you soldiering on and dismissing your pain? 😳 Ignoring our bodies only ends up in an accumulative mess later on that requires more time and $ to overcome.
It is time to get on top of your niggles! Remember babies and children cry out in pain too (or get grumpy or irritated when their nervous systems are unhappy) so their needs are important to address too, none of this "see how it goes" business, that's unnecessary suffering.
The practice is open tomorrow (Thursday) so give us a buzz so Natalie and I can get you & your fam more nimble again. 💪
