As I sit on the verandah and look out, I see the rain falling gently over the paradise we have been a part of creating. I see the plants intertwining and supporting each other. I watch a butterfly hang under a leaf, dry and protected. Our dogs lie curled up in their morning slumber. I take a moment and send thankfulness, appreciation and gratefulness to all who are part of this beautiful creation.

Love, anger, exhilaration, flatness, amazement and joy. All the emotions of the rainbow have been witnessed here. This land holds you and then spits you out when you are ready to go back into the world. It transforms you and pushes you to be you. It, she, gathers you , embraces you, loves you and speaks to you.
The new caretakers will continue to respect and hold space on this beautiful land. I want to thank you all for being a part of the journey.

Gunya
Over the years a whole range of teachers n facilitators of healing came through. Astrology n numerology with Diane was a favourite, ChiGung with Rastlin, mantra Chanting with Bhakti, Women's circles with Tatz plus so many more. Services have included reiki, energy work, past life regression, craniosacral treatments, massage, psychic readings, plus more.
Whilst providing these services we were aware of the Hippocratic oath....to provide healing regardless of payment. We watched the healing arts become a service only available to those who have. This, we provided many of our classes on donation and exchange.
As we looked after others, others looked after us. It wasn't uncommon to arrive home to a package of food or needed thing to be found on our kitchen table. .
Over the years all the buildings here at Gunya were made by members and friends of Gunya....

The second most popular part of what has been Gunya, is community. Once again, it was channelled to me to set up an intentional community. I'd done a lot of learning, whilst living in Adelaide, about community structures . As always, great spirit sent the right people to begin the formation of community. Over the years I found that being the corporate law owner of the land was a bitter sweet element to effective community. Sweet in that I could hold the 3 virtues and wasn't afraid to advocate for them. Bitter in that my belief is that to have pure community all must be equal.
The third most valued element of Gunya was spiritual teachings and healings.

Unschooling grew out of Pete's learning once again. It follows the belief that children are inquisitive and want to learn. I had previously spent some time at the Booroobin Sudbury school in malaney. With unschooling the teacher follows the child's lead eg child enjoys woodwork then provide more materials n support them in creating what they wish to create.
Unschooling was successfully joined by Shae providing Waldorf Steiner teaching.
Rudolf Steiner wrote a book...anthropology - .
It is about children, their development and how they learn. He recognized 7 year cycles, the need for the emotional and spiritual child to be educated and the importance of nature.
Over the 17 years of Gunya education for children has been number one....

Over time we had wooffers come from so many different countries. Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden, England,Wales,Scotland,Ireland,France,Germany,Italy,Russia,the Netherlands,USA,Canada,Mexico, plus more. My children learnt about different languages, foods, games and people. Was such a rich environment.
Our classes had begun. Wednesday nights became Healing Night. We would come together with people from the community and explore the healing arts.
These classes continued for over 5 years. Ages baby to 70 attended.
Over the years astrology, mantra chanting, common law, reiki, psychic work, esoterics, abstract art plus more were studied.
Unschooling, Steiner schooling also were a common class held over the past 17 years. ....

The constitution stated by what and how we wished to live. The 3 pillars were
Respect yourself
Respect each other
Respect the environment.
Every other detail rotated around these.
With an open day set for the Temple of September 26th, we had 1 months to complete it. With 30 people , from all around the world, we are, slept and worked on the creation of The Gunya Temple.
On the final day we'd just sat back to enjoy that moment of completion, when there in front of us was a wall unpainted!!! How could we have missed it?
Sept 26th arrived and celebrate we did.....

With Gunya named and the intention established we began our gatherings. At first the shed was the music studio. Noise pollution, my son James acdc band, would practice every Sunday. As I gardened and establish the food forest, back in black would be thumping in the background.
For a while we only had a roof and slab floor on the Temple. Our first classes were common law. As we versed ourselves with these teachings we were reminded of the importance in living life with value and integrity. In choosing to live under the lore of the land left no room for blaming another. The contract was bound.

What shall we name this land we sit up on? I posed to a friend. A friend whom was versed up with the lore of the land. He was a founding member of the creation of this new way, old way, of living.
How about Gunya?
At the time of this decision I wasn't in knowledge or awareness of the respectful way of naming land. At a later day this name was accepted by the true caretakers of this land.
What does it mean? I asked.
A place of gathering...Pete said.
The energy we had been experiencing on this land was one of gathering and healing.
And so Gunya was established.
The years to come would establish the true lore.
