Falls are one of the most common health concerns as we age — but they’re not inevitable. At Palm Lake Care, we focus on prevention through gentle movement, safe environments and the right support.

From tai chi and group activities to mobility aids and everyday healthy habits, small changes can make a big difference to balance, strength and confidence. Families also play an important role, whether it’s joining a walk, clearing trip hazards or encouraging hydration and the use of glasses and hearing aids.

Our Palm Lake Care Toowoomba bus takes us to some wonderful destinations. This trip was to Jondaryan - a quaint rural township, home to The Woolshed and Station
Village. Built in 1859, The Jondaryan Woolshed is Queensland’s oldest operating woolshed 🐑 Our residents had a great time, as you can see! I wonder where our bus will take us to next?

Welcome to our regular Monday morning post where we help you get to know the people who make up the rich fabric that is Palm Lake Care. Today, let us introduce you to Helen, one of our dedicated Hydration and Nutrition PCAs at Palm Lake Care Beachmere...

Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Ana is a mother of two adults, a grandmother to three children, and proud wife to her husband Graham. She's always loved taking care of people, helping them achieve their goals and listening to and learning from them.

"Sharing time with our residents is very precious," says Ana. "My advice to people who are planning on becoming a carer is to please have compassion and show love to the people you are responsible for. Be sincere and treat people as unique - every person is one individual, and they deserve love and respect."

We loved welcoming the adorable toddlers from Marsden Early Learning Childcare Centre to Palm Lake Care Bethania 👶🏼🩵 Our residents lit up as they shared cuddles, stories and plenty of giggles with their youngest visitors. These intergenerational moments are so special - creating connections that warm the heart and brighten everyone’s day.

Exciting news! We've put together our very own commemorative cookbook, titled 'From our hearts, to your table'. It's a 52-page collection of family recipes gratefully shared by Palm Lake Care residents and various team members, including kitchen, lifestyle and management staff. Every recipe supplied and reproduced in the book comes complete with a photo of the recipe’s owner and their back story, explaining why their particular recipe is so meaningful to them.

You can purchase your copy for $20 at Reception at any one of our seven local communities.

We're a crafty bunch! Our Palm Lake Care Bargara residents love a good craft session - especially when rainbow stickers are involved 🌈 Craft is a great way to maintain our fine motor movement, stay socially connected and (literally) brighten our day!

You don't need to go to the Brisbane Showgrounds to enjoy the Ekka! Here at Palm Lake Care Deception Bay, we tried all the quintessential Ekka activities - from patting barnyard animals to chowing down on strawberry sundaes, shopping for showbags and even enjoying the Ekka show with fireworks. What fun!
