Myth: “I don’t need a hearing test unless I notice a problem.”
Truth: Hearing loss is often gradual — with people waiting over 7 years to take action. That’s 7 years of missed laughter, conversations, and connection with family or friends.
Come visit us at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in the Home & Lifestyle Pavilion and find out how easy it is to check your hearing.

This Valentine's Day, give the gift of hearing!
Whether it's hearing the laughter of loved ones, enjoying your favourite songs together, or simply having meaningful conversations, hearing enhances every moment.
At Audika, we’re here to help you reconnect with the sounds that matter most.
Here are some tips to prevent hearing damage during new year's fireworks.
🎧Wear Ear Protection: Use foam earplugs, noise-cancelling earmuffs, or specialised ear protection designed to reduce loud sounds. These can help minimise the intense impact of fireworks.
🧑🤝🧑Keep Your Distance: Aim to stay at least 150 metres from where fireworks are launched. This distance reduces the direct exposure to loud noise.
🏞️Choose Open Spaces: Avoid enclosed areas that can amplify sound. Open, outdoor spaces allow the sound to disperse, reducing its intensity.
⏰Limit Exposure Time: Watching a few minutes of fireworks from a safe distance is usually enough. Prolonged exposure increases the risk of hearing damage.
😴Give Your Ears a Break: After the show, give your ears a few hours to rest. Avoid other loud environments immediately after to help your ears recover.

Russell Greene, a former VFL player, had spent years ignoring his hearing loss. It wasn’t until a near-tragic moment while teaching a swimming class that he realised just how much his hearing loss had been impacting his life—and the safety of others.
After seeking help through Audika, Russell was able to restore his hearing and reconnect with the simple pleasures of life—enjoying the sounds of birds, music, and more importantly, engaging fully with his friends and family.
Russell’s journey is part of our UnHeard Stories, a collection of inspiring, deeply personal experiences of everyday Australians navigating life with hearing loss.
As a busy working mum and entrepreneur, Jo didn’t realise how much her hearing loss was affecting her life until it reached a breaking point. Balancing her business and family life, she had always juggled priorities—until meetings, phone calls, and social events became overwhelming due to her hearing challenges.
"The effort of deciphering conversations, smiling through missed words, and trying to stay engaged left me emotionally and physically drained." Jo recalls.
Determined to regain control, Jo sought help from Audika, and the transformation was life-changing. With clearer hearing, Jo could engage fully in her work, enjoy social gatherings again, and feel more confident in every aspect of her life.
