💔 These are commonly shared experiences for some neurodivergent people during breakups. They won’t apply to everyone, and your journey may look very different and that’s valid too.💔

Breakups can hit differently when you’re neurodivergent.🫠

Monotropic focus may keep you looping on memories. RSD can make rejection feel unbearable. High-contrast thinking can swing you between extremes. Impulsivity may pull you toward big, sudden choices. Even memory gaps or executive function struggles can make daily life feel harder.

But a strengths based lens (OTs love a person centered strengths based moment!!🌱) reveals that these same characteristics can hold many hidden strengths too. Deep focus can fuel healing. Sensitivity can create profound empathy. Intensity can drive passionate growth. Boldness can open new paths. Even the urge to fill a void can spark new routines and communities.

Which of these patterns feels familiar in your own experiences? Perhaps something to quietly reflect on, or to share in the comments if you’d like? I'll leave it with you. 🤔💭

Click share or send me a DM if something resonates or you have feedback. Always willing and open to hearing the voices, opinions and experiences of others ✨

"What are my Plan B options if I’m autistic?”

Short answer: The same as anyone else.

Longer answer? You might face extra considerations or barriers getting emergency contraception AND that doesn’t make you any less entitled to it. EVER

Flick through the above post to see ...
💟 Emergency contraception options available in Australia
💟Sensory and neurodivergent-specific barriers
💟 Tips to make accessing Plan B easier
💟 Info for trans & non-binary folks
💟 What you can do if Plan B doesn’t work

Every body and mind deserves accessible, affirming s*xual health care, free of judgement, without assumptions or needing to explain why you’re there.

You can be q***r, disabled, neurodivergent and still need (and deserve) contraception. If Plan B doesn’t work, there are still options in WA (where I am based) including safe, legal abortion.

🌟Monthly supervision spots available 🌟

If you are looking for a safe, reflective, neuroaffirming supervision set up that actually makes space for the real stuff and stuff you don't usual cover. Things like uncertainty, nuance, identity, intimacy, gender, puberty and complexity then definitely slide into my DMs🤠

Each month, I offer two 1:1 supervision slots through CRUSH therapy for professionals supporting neurodivergent or disabled clients. Already a number of clinicians have accessed supervision support sessions for specific and general clinical support. Many come to me for additional supervision and coaching on how to manage and support clients presenting with goals under s3×uality and intimacy, protective behaviours, puberty and challenging s3xual behaviours.

This option is ideal for:
✔️ OTs, educators, support workers, counsellors, and students
✔️ Case reflection, boundaries, ethics, sensory/s3×uality topics
✔️ Unpacking practice through a neuro-affirming lens
✔️ Bringing questions you might not feel safe to ask elsewhere

This is a paid supervision spot, available monthly on a first-in basis. Casual, no lock-ins. One-off or ongoing.

📩 DM or email to book in! And let's chat!!

💥 CRUSH therapy turns ONE! 💥

One year ago, I opened the CRUSH therapy doors with a vision to create a space where neurodivergent, disabled and q***r people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

It’s been a year of hard work, passion, learning, love (and a few late nights!) — and I am so grateful for the incredible people who’ve backed me, worked with me, referred to CRUSH, and believed in what I do.

In the past year, CRUSH has...

🧠 Delivered 1:1 therapy with care and curiosity
🎓 Presented PDs and workshops to workplaces across sectors
🤝Provided supervision, consultation and collaborative support
🗺️Travelled interstate and attended worldwide Congress's
🌱 Grown to almost 1000 followers across platforms and reached over 60k in views (and trust me - after numerous content warnings, account bans and any content mentioning s*x, it's not easy)
🛜 Created numerous free and accessible resources
💬 Sparked conversations around identity, regulation, s*xuality and access

This is just the beginning and I'm excited for year TWO! More resources, more partnerships, more advocacy, and more spaces for connection and change.

Thank you to those who have supported this first year in whatever form or capacity, and for being here for the ride. I am so very grateful. I'll do my best to keep CRUSHing it (s'cuse the pun)
💛

"Wait, OTs talk about s*×?”

Yep. And we should.

S*×uality is a key part of identity, health, and participation — and for many people, it's an area affected by disability, trauma, sensory processing, motor skills, or access needs.

As OTs, we support people to engage in meaningful occupations. That includes the ones that are often ignored, silenced, or seen as "too complex" or "taboo".

Pleasure, !ntimacy, and agency are valid and matter.

Today is Autistic Pride Day—a day to honour the unique ways autistic people exist, relate, love, feel, and express.

Autism isn’t something to “fix.” It’s a valid and invaluable neurotype with its own strengths, complexities, challenges, and needs. As an OT and s3×ologist, I work alongside autistic folks of all ages—supporting sensory regulation, communication, and safer, self-led exploration of identity, boundaries, and int!macy.

Let’s move beyond awareness.
Let’s move toward celebration, access, and pride.

A common theme throughout the symposiums and workshops that I have attended so far at WAS 2025... Call-In Culture👐🏼

Call-in culture is about being strategic, relational, and compassionate—especially when things go wrong, someone makes a mistake or is still learning. It requires space holding, education, awareness and nuance. It involves acknowledging the privilege of already having knowledge, education and training in certain spaces, and calling people who don't into that.

When we call someone in, we invite growth with them—not at their expense.

It’s how we build real change in our work, our communities, and ourselves. 🌿

One major take away for me from , .ot and 's Collective Wisdom OT and Int!macy PD Day yesterday was actually a question...

It’s easy to get stuck in what we haven’t done yet and why — in the discomfort, the silence, or the perceived gaps in our training.

But what if we asked instead: “Why not me?”

This encourages us to look forward and foster a growth mindset. As OTs, we’re already working at the intersection of function, participation, and identity. Task analysis, and problem solving is our schtick! With the client and their meaningful occupations at the centre of it all.
This work is ours too! 🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼

As an OT and s3×uality professional, I'm always looking to deepen my understanding of how we support s3×ual health across the lifespan, in all kinds of bodies and brains. 🤓 As I post this I'm sitting on the tarmac waiting to take off to Brisbane for the week and I CAN'T WAIT! 🛫

Here’s what I’m hoping to learn:

1. New insights into supporting neurodivergent and disabled people in s*xual health and relationships

2. Global perspectives on inclusive s*x education

3. Evidence-based approaches to pleasure, consent, and autonomy

4. Tools and language to advocate more effectively within healthcare and community spaces

The WAS2025 conference starts on Monday and tomorrow I have a 1 day OT specific training day "Collective Wisdom" held by Thrive Rehab. It’s going to be a really special day, with international presenters and OTs attending from across Australia and around the world to talk about our role and assessment for s3xual wellbeing and intimacy.

I’ll be sharing takeaways as I go — stay tuned!

🧠💛 Supporting children and their families through big feelings, big changes, and big questions.

At CRUSH, we offer tailored supports for neurodivergent and disabled young people—especially around:

🔸 Puberty & growing bodies
🔸 Protective behaviours & consent
🔸 Sexuality & identity education
🔸 Understanding emotions, regulation & sensory needs
🔸 Supporting communication (verbal and non-verbal)
🔸 Building safer relationships
🔸 Parent consults and carer support

✨ We work in collaboration with families, schools, and other services, and we offer both public and private support options.

Whether it’s a one-off consult or ongoing therapy, we meet kids and families where they’re at—gently, practically, and without shame.

✨ How does starting therapy with CRUSH work?✨

Here’s what the intake process looks like – gentle, flexible, and all about finding the right fit for you🗺️🌈

Step 1: Send an enquiry via Instagram, email or through our website.📨

Step 2: We’ll be in touch to organise a free 10-minute consult call. This is a chance to chat about your goals, see if my services are the right support, and check if we’re a good fit.☎️

Step 3: If it feels like a good match, I’ll send you an intake form and we’ll book your initial session.🗣️

❔What happens in the first session?
Step 4: We spend time getting to know each other. You’ll get a feel for me, and I’ll learn more about you—your story, needs, and what you’re looking for from therapy. Sometimes we start setting goals right away, other times it takes a second session and that’s okay.✨👣

Step 5: We’ll also talk through and sign a service agreement within the first couple of sessions.📄

Step 6: Ongoing therapy looks different for everyone. . . weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or just when you need a check-in. We’ll shape it around what works for you. 👐🏼

Got questions or want to get started? Reach out any time 💌

“We don’t talk about that with kids.”

But here’s the thing, when we avoid hard topics, we don’t protect children. We just leave them without tools.

Body Safety isn’t about fear, it’s about freedom.
Freedom to say no.
Freedom to ask for help.
Freedom to know that my body belongs to me.

It’s never too early to start. You don’t have to say it perfectly just start saying it.💭✨
