Topical gels and creams!

Why are there so many different topical gels and creams to choose from? And are they any different? What one is better? Just a few questions I get asked often.

They all have different ingredients and therefore different uses. Deep heat has counterirritants, fisiocrem has arnica Montana and a counterirritant, voltaren contains Diethylamine.

I know they are big words, but here's a snippet of info on each to help you understand the ingredients of your topical gels/creams and therefore help you decide what is best to use to aid with your pain management

Counterirritants (menthol, methyl salicylate) - they create a burning or cooling sensation that distracts your mind from the pain.

Arnica Montana - is a plant that contains inflammation fighting compounds which helps with pain

Diethylamine - is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) it works by blocking the release of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation.

Have you been looking after your feet? 🦶🏼🦶🏼

Your feet are your body's foundation and take a lot of load. Overuse, wearing the wrong shoes, injuries during sport, and even genetics can all lead to injuries and disorders of the foot that impact mobility.

Foot pain can be debilitating. We all use our feet on a daily basis. They get us from A to B. So we need to look after them.

Got a ni**le?
Let's talk about how we can help prevent foot pain from getting worse.

Stretch and release the muscles and Fascia - use a trigger ball, a hockey ball, a foam roller, or a frozen water bottle if you have really sore feet
to help with inflammation. Do this on a daily basis, and you'll see improvements with your pain and overall function of your feet

Hey everyone!! 👋🏼

Thought I would touch base with all my amazing clients. I know I have been very MIA throughout 2022 with bringing my first child into the world and enjoying every minute of his first year with us 😁

But I have still been grinding away in the background, staying registered, my provider numbers are still active, keeping my knowledge up and I may have even sneakily been treating a few clients here and there over the last few months 🤭

I'm looking forward to slowly coming back to work in 2023 and being able to help you all again! I've missed you!

I should add though, I won't be taking on any new clients for now.

Happy New Year! And thank you all for supporting me and checking in with me over the last year.

See you all soon!
Bec 🤗

What do I do??

I’m a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist who specialises in musculoskeletal injuries and Sports injuries. I use my knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to determine how to treat my clients along with my skill to reduce their pain, enhance the performance of their body and movement.

Through the use of different techniques I restore the function of soft tissue, relieve pain and decrease muscle tension/spasm to improve physical or athletic performance and promote healing. I offer a range of advice and knowledge in my treatments and I treat the ‘why’ the injury or pain has happened, not necessarily where the pain is located.

If you are after someone who goes above and beyond, book an appointment with me today so we can get your body performing at it’s best.
