Join me in the upcoming Reiki intensive with Arjava Petter - teaching Usui Reiki Ryoho, unmodified from how Hayashi taught his Japanese students, Chiyoko Yamaguchi, her Uncle and their entire extended family.

This intensive is set to be held in the picturesque town of Cambridge New Zealand in November this year.

This version of Reiki taught by Arjava (formerly the Vice-Principal of the Jikiden Reiki Institute) is untouched by Western or modern influence and includes all the core traditional spiritual and traditional healing techniques that were removed when taken over to the West. It is a complete spiritual and healing practice and the teachings cover the cultural and spiritual influences that underpinned the system created by Usui Sensei.

Arjava is an incredibly loving, humble, warm and funny person and also is someone who has been at the forefront of discovering the Traditional Japanese way of practice and uncovering the history of Usui Sensei. His rare contact with members of the Usui family and ex-Gakkai President and members, makes his teaching so rich and layered with incredible depth.

Having been twice now to learn with Arjava, it is an extraordinarily beautiful time of learning, connection, immersion in the practice and teachings and making of life-long friends. Ready for another story about spirit making themselves known?!

A few weeks ago when I was really emotional, I was upset that a particular loved one (in spirit) hadn’t come through… I couldn’t feel her at all. I was actually a bit angry and upset about it and with tears asked why she wasn’t there supporting me?! Her name was Nina.

I knew what it felt like when she was around because there had been times in the past where both a friend and I could feel her with us when we went to several concerts. She loved her concerts!

Then last week, out of nowhere, I couldn’t stop thinking about a photo she had on her wall of a smiling horse. The purchase, receiving and hanging of that photo represented a significant exchange and memory between us. And she loved that photo so much. It was very much like her character!

Then last night I was scrolling and a video came up of heartfelt connections between horses and dogs, playing to Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’.

As I watched it, all of a sudden I felt her. I felt her love & her presence so clearly it was like she was right there in the room!

I listened to the lyrics playing & was stopped in my tracks:

“Just the other night, I thought I heard you cry, asking me to come and hold you in my arms. I can hear your prayers…

You are not alone, I am here with you. Though you’re far away, I am here to stay. You are not alone, I am here with you. Though we’re far apart, you’re always in my heart

Whisper three words and I’ll come running, and girl you know that I’ll be there.”

Through those lyrics, she was directly answering my prayer, my questioning and my doubt of her being there to support me.

Then I looked closer at the post… the author’s name was “GHOST”. 😯

I went to the comments… the very first one had her name in it, ‘Nina.’

You honestly can’t make this stuff up!

What’s even more incredible is that only days earlier I had said to her niece that I was upset Nina hadn’t come through for me when I really needed her.

And then… this. Incredible!

Remember what I said in my last post? It’s about timing, specificity and probability which renders it something much more than wishful thinking or coincidence.

I truly believe these signs are always around us, they’re just easy to miss or perhaps explain away. But when you know you know, trust that and relish in the Gift that it is! 🙏🏽🤍✨

This right here is patience… mixed with some tender love and care (and I’ll admit, a little neglect too)!

Nature is resilient. It finds a way to grow, even when conditions aren’t perfect. It’s designed to survive… and to thrive. And this little lime tree is proof of that.

15 years without fruit! 🥵

So many times I almost gave up on it. Thought about pulling it out completely. But instead, I left it… and every now and then, I’d give it a little love - some nutrients and a bit of care. Same with its lemon tree buddy beside it (which I neglected at times too).

And now, here we are…15 years on, and fruiting for the very first time! 🍋‍🟩

It makes me think about our own lives and healing cycles.

We don’t always have perfect conditions. We lose momentum. We neglect ourselves at times. We feel like giving up.

But with patience… and even the smallest moments of care along the way…
we find our way back.

And eventually, we heal and we grow.

Sometimes quickly. Sometimes it takes 15 years.

Either way… it’s worth it! This little lime tree is our cue to keep going, even if you’re in the weeds right now, trust that one day the fruit will come! 🙏🏽🤍✨

Are our loved ones who have passed still with us? Can they communicate with us?

For the last six months, I’ve strongly felt my Grandma close by my side. It’s been an emotional time & I’ve felt that’s why she’s stepped in so closely.

Two weeks ago, I asked her for confirmation. I wanted hard evidence. I made it specific to avoid doubt so I asked for her to leave a tub of Flora margarine because her name was Flora! 😂

I asked that it appear somewhere unexpected. Not in any usual place you’d find it.

And I fully believed she’d pull through! I’ve had experiences before where spirit has given me clear 3D signs… so I just trusted it might take time.

Last night, I was telling my best friend and her son about it and it really sparked something in them! They started contemplating the bigger questions of life after death, Spirit connection…all of it.

After leaving me, they even talked about it on their way home. They were invested! Both eager to see if my Yiayia (‘Grandma’ in Greek) would deliver.

And then this morning… less than 12 hours later…on her usual walk, right in the middle of the footpath, my friend was stopped in her tracks by the lid of a Flora margarine tub. Just sitting there. No other rubbish. Nothing else around it.

Exactly as I asked!

Now, some people will say this is coincidence.
But take into account the timing, the specificity, and the probability.

The morning after the conversation.
One single piece of rubbish.
On her usual walking path.
And it’s the precise thing I asked for?

Of all things, Flora margarine?!

And if you knew my Yiayia, you’d understand why it came through this way.

I already believe. I didn’t need convincing.
She didn’t do this just for me!

She included them!

She gave my friend and her son something they could experience for themselves and open them up to the possibility that there’s more to our existence than what we can see and explain!

That was her… in her life she reached and touched as many people as she could through her kindness. And in spirit, she’s doing the same!!

I also think it was her way of thanking my best friend for being there for me and being such an incredible support. They knew each other well, we all grew up together, and I feel like it was a sweet gift of gratitude from my Yiayia to my friend.

And for me, it wasn’t just the sign… it brought her presence into something I could feel in a real, tangible way. Thanks so much Yiayia! I miss you so much!! 🥰🤍

A client came in recently with advanced Parkinson’s.

She is non-verbal now and no longer able to communicate her needs.

Her daughter brought her in, and we worked with her seated in her wheelchair, as she is both bedbound and wheelchair-bound.

There is no conversation in sessions like this.

My client is unable to tell me where it hurts, how she feels or what is needed.

This is where the body in Reiki is able to speak.

When the body receives Reiki, it causes an almost chemical reaction, and the body sends something similar to sound waves out to my hands, creating different sensations that guide me to the areas of most need. Intuitively, I am also listening for guidance, tapping into emotions and information that help guide where to place my hands.

When a client is unable to express herself directly, this is invaluable!

Towards the end of the session, my client’s face began to change.

She lifted her head, turned it towards her daughter… and then she smiled.

She stayed fixated on her daughter, with a continuous smile, for the last 10 minutes of the session!

Her daughter later told me she continued smiling the entire 45 minute drive home.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the next day, her Mum was even speaking! How incredible is that?!

It can be very, very frustrating for loved ones who can see that someone they care about is uncomfortable, unsettled or not themselves, but can’t reach them in the usual ways.

And whilst medication is often an essential part of care, there can be gaps in between.

Reiki can sit in those gaps.

It can offer something that doesn’t rely on words or understanding, and it is an incredible gift not only for the person receiving, but for the people who love them, to see that shift… to see them, even for a short period, come back to themselves!

One of my beautiful Reiki students .ka came over today to practice Reiki on me and left me with this sweet and VERY delicious treat! I told her I’d wait until dinner before trying it but was unable to wait. 😜

Oh what a treat this is! This film by the Reconciliation Project, tries to help build bridges within the Reiki community after so much friction and fractions within with community that transpired as a result of Arjava’s curiosity and quest to find out more about Usui Sensei and about the practice of Reiki.

What he discovered sent shockwaves throughout the community and much controversy followed.

This is a fascinating watch, to hear Arjava’s own personal journey with Reiki and and the lessons he learnt along the way. And most of all, to learn about the history, Usui’s family and how we came to discover and uncover aspects of Reiki previously unknown to us here in the West.

My biggest take away - Reiki is something for us all. It is to be shared with an open heart and to remember, that it was designed as a spiritual and healing practice with the aim to help ease human suffering. Beyond the ‘business’ of Reiki or human politics - we must stay pure in the purpose of what it is we are doing with this practice. Stay in the heart of it! 🙏🏽🤍🥰
