Embracing independence is essential to personal growth, but it's equally important to acknowledge that we thrive when surrounded by a supportive community.
The ancient adage 'no man is an island' rings true - we can't do it all alone.
We need our 'village' to uplift us, offer guidance, and help us become the best versions of ourselves.
Cultivating meaningful relationships with others is vital to our well-being and happiness.

Who is in your village?
Those cherished friends, family members, mentors or support workers who make a difference in your life?
What do you love to do during shared time together? Do you bond over outdoor adventures, lively game nights, or heartwarming meals?

This week, we were thrilled to join forces with Jayden from Wara Yindi Support Services. Our collaboration sparked exciting possibilities for growth and support.
Jayden's expertise and passion for empowering individuals and communities aligned perfectly with our mission.
Together, we explored innovative ways to enhance well-being and foster meaningful connections. We're eager to see the positive impact our partnership will bring and look forward to continuing our work together.

Nurturing these connections not only brings joy but also provides a safety net during life's challenges. So, let's celebrate independence while embracing interdependence!
And remember to cherish the village that helps you shine! ✨

🎈 CHILDREN WITH DISABILITY PEER SUPPORT GROUP 🎈

Jacinta Dempsey Support Coordination and Jayden Taylor Aboriginal Support Work and Respite Services are collaborating to offer a Peer Support Group for Whyalla children with disability ages 8-12, every 2nd Friday beginning Oct 25th 2024.

6 (six) spaces will be available each fortnight, and the location of the session will be sent out a week prior. All activities will be nature based, and activities will be weather dependant.

Sessions will be:
October 25th
November 8th
November 22nd
December 6th
(Pause for Christmas/New Year break)
January 17th
January 31st

Jacinta (female) and Jayden (male) will run the sessions, with the aim of children having opportunity to neuroaffirmative experiences, building peer connections and exploring local community.

There will be limited placements for transport, this must be booked in prior.

This will be funded through the child's NDIS plan; through their core funding. It would be great to see the child attend all 6 sessions to assist with developing skills and peer connections, however this is not mandatory and a waitlist will be developed if these placements fill to advise families if a child cannot make it.

We are currently trailing the need for this, and will explore this ongoing if there is a need. We are open to feedback and looking at bridging gaps of services for children in the community, who have NDIS plans.

Please register your interest with Jacinta or Jayden via email or text.

Please feel free to share this amongst your networks.

(Disclaimer: any clients accessing Jacinta Dempsey Support Coordination services will not be able to access this service, as this will be a conflict of interest. For any clients wishing to engage in something similar, please advise and Jacinta & Jayden can discuss need/feedback to develop something in the future).

Kind Regards

Jacinta Dempsey
