Celebrating - a 100% indigenous owned brand is inspired by the land on which the were born. Proud ‘Murri Kamillaroi Kooma’ sisters Natasha and Lisa-May use traditional weaving techniques to curate hand made, one of a kind jewellery creations. They also hand make ‘Indigenous Print’ children’s clothing and accessories. In 2021, the Red Sand Sisters expanded to include their Garruu’s (uncles) beautiful and vibrant Aboriginal Art, painted Didgeridoos, coolamons, fishing lures & Painted/Carved Emu eggs. Bubba and Gunii (mum and dad) each also bring special elements to their business. Natasha and Lisa-May hold ‘Yarn and Weave’ workshops in Toowoomba where 10% of the proceeds are donated to the Yalari students Pay It Forward Campaign! As we celebrate NAIDOC week, we celebrate Luther Cora. Luther Cora (first image) is an indigenous cultural performer, Aboriginal artist, traditional dancer, didgeridoo, and photographer. Luther is a proud Indigenous man from Yagumbeh Language Group on the Gold Coast and is a respected leader for culture & an artist that invites people to understand a little bit more about the world’s oldest living culture. Luther says ‘[when] the truth is the we have the most beautiful, rich culture right here in our back yard. The Aboriginal culture, the histories, the stories: they belong to this land and if you are Australian, they belong to you’. As we celebrate NAIDOC week, we invite you to celebrate indigenous business’ not just in the first week of July, but all year round. Each day this week, and once per month after, we will highlight businesses with indigenous owners to help spread the word of supporting local, and supporting Blak.

is an indigenous owned and run business by two Kamilaroi sisters from Dirranbandi. Neika & Kaylah put their love of culture and fashion into creating apparel for mob all around.
