Revital Equine Offering Cryotherapy and Electrical Impulse Therapy to the Gympie and Sunshine Coast region.

Assisting in relieving chronic pain and Inflammation to ensure your horse is performing at its optimum level! With over 25 years of experience with horses, I have gained exposure across various disciplines, including showing, dressage, show jumping, the racing industry, and cutting. Throughout my journey, I've observed a significant gap in knowledge and time that often limits horses from receiving essential precautionary treatments and effective rehabilitation for injuries. I offer state-of-the-art treatment using electrostimulation (Medkey Device) in combination with cryotherapy (America Cryo), ensuring that your horse operates at its optimal level by relieving pain, inflammation and stress.

When a horse receives cryotherapy along their spine, it targets one of the most important areas of their body. The spine is the central pathway that carries signals between the brain and the rest of the body, so any tension, inflammation, or restriction here can influence how the entire horse feels and performs.

By applying cryotherapy to the spinal cord region, we reduce inflammation around the vertebrae and surrounding muscles, encourage blood flow, and help release deep-seated tension. This not only allows the horse to move more freely through their back, but it also improves communication between the nervous system and the muscles.

Many clients notice that after a spinal cryotherapy session, their horses feel more relaxed, flexible, and prepared for work. Focusing on the spine during a “full body” treatment ensures the horse can use their body more evenly, carry themselves correctly, and recover faster—leading to better performance and overall wellbeing.

Why does a horse look tight or tucked up before treatment?
When a horse is sore, stressed, or dealing with muscle tension, the body often shows it in its topline and abdominal area. They can look “tight” or “drawn up” because:
• Their muscles are in a protective, contracted state due to pain or discomfort.
• Restricted circulation and fascia tension make them look hollow or gaunt.
• Stress hormones and discomfort can make them hold themselves defensively.

What does a Medkey session do?
The Medkey uses gentle neuro-stimulation impulses that interact with the horse’s nervous system. This helps:
• Release muscle tension and fascial restrictions.
• Improve blood flow and lymphatic circulation, allowing tissues to re-hydrate and “fill out.”
• Trigger the parasympathetic nervous system (the “rest and digest” mode), helping the horse relax physically and mentally.

After treatment, horses often appear more “plump” through the body and softer over their topline because their muscles have released, circulation has improved, and they feel comfortable enough to fully relax

Things have kicked off at the Balonne River Cutters Futurity!
If you’ve got a horse with stifle or hamstring issues—or one that just isn’t feeling quite right—reach out! I’ll be here treating horses for the next 9 days.

How my treatments help:
• Medkey Therapy: Uses gentle electrical impulses to communicate with the nervous system, helping to relieve pain, release tight muscles, reduce inflammation, and support natural healing.
• Cryotherapy: Delivers targeted cold therapy to reduce swelling, pain, and heat in muscles and joints, speeding up recovery and improving comfort.

Together they’re a powerful combo to keep your horses feeling and performing their best.

How the Medkey Moves Dysfunction

The Medkey uses targeted neurostimulation to “talk” to the horse’s nervous system. Dysfunction — from injury, overuse, or imbalance — often shows up as tension, restricted movement, or inflammation.

When applied, the Medkey detects changes in skin resistance that indicate areas of compensation or strain. It then delivers gentle impulses that encourage the nervous system to reset and release these problem spots.

As the body responds, you may see muscles relax, posture improve, and movement become freer — sometimes instantly, sometimes over a few days. Horses often show signs of release such as licking, chewing, yawning, or stretching.

By moving dysfunction away from the areas causing the most restriction, the Medkey helps the body work more efficiently, reducing pain and inflammation and supporting faster recovery.

What a difference just one treatment can make!
This mare was stepping short and experiencing issues in her racing prep. During her Medkey session, we focused on her shoulder — the device detected dysfunction, which was also visible in the muscle structure.

The trainers worked her on the same day and reported that she had never felt better. In just two weeks, they’ve felt and seen clear, visible improvements!
