Our aim at Motherground is for you to experience a nourishing break that offers you the opportunity to unwind, relax and reconnect. We believe mums need just as much love and care as their babies do. We nurture the nurturer, and offer a restful break that is just as rejuvenating for you as it is for your baby. New mums can experience feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and often unprepared for life with a baby. So much energy and preparation is given to the pregnancy and birth process, but not many people talk openly about the realities of motherhood. Women often underestimate just how different their lives will become once their baby is born. Let’s face it, nothing can prepare you for the massive life change you experience as a new mother. It can be such a large shift reconciling your vision of motherhood with the reality and often an adjustment of expectations is needed. Motherground is a place where you can come to relax and let go while being fully supported. Let us help you to consciously find the time and energy to connect with your baby and be present in each moment. We invite mums and their babies up to two years old, to come away for either a one day mini retreat or a three day/two night ultimate retreat and be taken care of. This is a time for rest, rejuvenation and invaluable bonding with your baby. Join an intimate group of mothers and their babies while being supported by an amazing team of female health & wellbeing practitioners. Included in your retreat package are on-site personal nannies, available to care for your baby when you need time out, allowing you to enjoy a massage, hot cup of tea by the fire or a walk amongst nature. You will have a chance to be involved in several activities and workshops on offer, all designed to enhance your mothering journey and deeply recharge you.

Ten years ago today, I drove up the winding hill to a retreat centre in Red Hill with my 11-month-old son in the backseat, and my beautiful friend (with her own baby) by my side. My heart was pounding, my stomach knotted with nerves. I kept asking myself “Who am I to be doing this?”

I was about to welcome a group of new mums and their babies to the very first Motherground Retreat- a space I had been dreaming up for months, because I knew it was so needed. A gentle place where mums could arrive, put their bags down, feel seen, valued, be nurtured and completely cared for, while keeping their babies close.

I had everything planned down to the minute… until I didn’t.
As we gathered around the table for our first meal, I looked around at the crying babies, the mamas juggling feeding, nappy changes, sleeping schedules and I paused and realised~ ahh yes, this is exactly what motherhood can look like, an unpredictable, beautiful hot mess.
So I scrapped the schedule.
Instead, I invited us all to take off the masks we wore 🎭 let go of the concept of perfection, and simply ‘be’- messy, tired, teary, joyful, and everything in between (& there’s so much in between).

That moment set the tone for Motherground from then on. It would become a place where all parts of motherhood would be welcome. A place of connection, honesty, and care.

Since then, I had the privilege of supporting over 100 women and families through retreats across Australia, and even took Motherground all the way to England 💛

Now, ten years on, as my little boy is about to turn 11, I look back with so much appreciation. The lessons and challenges of motherhood keep changing, but the need for spaces of true connection remains.

And as for what comes next… it is ever evolving.

I now offer counselling sessions for mums navigating all stages of the motherhood journey. If you’d like to reach out you can share your expression of interest through the link in the bio.

If you’d have a memory of a Motherground retreat you were part of, drop me a note here, I’d love to hear from you.

Motherhood, womanhood, life~ none of it comes with a roadmap. Some days feel expansive, others feel like survival. I know this first hand.

The best part is, you don’t need to do it on your own.

Through counselling I offer a grounded space to process, reflect and find some anchoring.

If you’d like to explore this together, please drop me a line via the form (link in bio) and I’ll be in touch with you very soon.
