In a world that's always on the move it's easy to forget the magic that happens when we hit the pause button. Taking a moment to step back, breathe, and just be is a gift to ourselves.

So what's the difference between depression and anxiety?🤔

Depression - persistent sadness, loss of interest, lack of energy, changes in appetite or sleep patterns, difficulty concentrating and feelings of guilt or worthlessness.😔

Anxiety - excessive worry, fear, restlessness, irritability, racing thoughts and difficulty sleeping.😣

Depression often leads to negative thoughts and self criticism, while anxiety is focused on future events or potential threats.

Both conditions can significantly impact daily life, make sure you reach out for support if you feel overwhelmed and alone 🙏

Have you ever caught yourself wondering if your thoughts and words hold real power? Well brace yourself!💥

Habits are like well worn paths in our minds that we naturally follow, and changing them feels super tough as our brains like to take the easy and familiar routes😣

The old way feels so good! So comfortable even if it isnt serving us!😍 That's why it can feel mega hard to change.

A teacher once said in a class I went to -

'It's not hard, it's just new'

Holy moly!! I just loved that!!

I use it alllllll the time when I am feeling overwhelmed because it's so true. It's only unfamiliar! 🤔 I just have to keep going until it's familiar!

Remember, changing our habits is a process and just like a plant needs time to grow, changing habits takes a bit of patience🙏

Do you suffer from an addiction?😣

Maybe it's a food addiction?🍟
A drug addiction?
What about alcohol addiction? P**n addiction?
Gambling addiction? 🎲
Online shopping addiction?
The list goes on ....

Our brains are wired to seek pleasure and avoid pain so you may turn to these addictions as they give you a dopamine hit and you are like yes!! Thank goodness!!! Some relief!! Then that feeling fades and you feel awful again 😪

Maybe you have suffered trauma in your childhood or adulthood and use these things to escape reality because life is too painful? 💔

Maybe you are mega stressed and these addictions give you a way to cope to alleviate physical or emotional pain?😥

I see clients with addiction issues all the time and there is a way out. Healing is hard (I'm not gonna sugar coat it) but if you are committed and completely sick of your addictions you CAN overcome them🤗.

Listen when your body needs rest, listen to what YOU are needing. It's ok to put yourself first and it's also ok to do absolutely nothing somedays and feel zero guilt😃!! X

We are all walking around with wounds which often stem from childhood and when we were in utero. 👧

Everyone is walking around with unmet needs trying to find something that makes them feel better not realising its an inside job.

What did you need to hear as a child?? What were your unmet needs?? Maybe you were never told that you were loved? 😥Maybe you were never told you were enough just the way you were? Maybe you just weren't hugged or nurtured?

Imagine yourself communicating with your inner child and tell her/him that they are deeply loved, that they are enough and beautiful just as they are. Its time to nuture yourself, come back into your body and listen. Stop looking at the external for validation when you can validate yourself.💜

🌛🤯Nightime can intensify anxiety as the quiet moments amplify worrisome thoughts, overthinking takes hold, and the lack of distractions allows anxious feelings to surface.

The sense of loneliness can also become more profound.

To ease these nightime battles, a calming nightime routine may help.
You can journal to release emotions, sit and talk to your body and see what messages you receive, maybe take a calming bath with essential oils or drink some calming herbal tea.

By consciously inhaling and exhaling, you activate the body's relaxation response, reducing stress hormones and promoting a sense of calm.

It's so simple that most people dismiss it but it's super effective! A great tool to use if you are feeling anxiety come on.

Anxiety affects soooo many people and since 2017 the amount of people suffering has increased. An estimated 275 million people suffer from anxiety disorders.
That's way too many people!
