a GentleLase Pro 2013! May people ask is laser hair removal permanent? The answer is laser is the most effective way to remove unwanted hair and keeping them away. Laser used for hair removal are absorbed by Melanin (what gives our hair and skin colour). It takes light and converts to heat which damages the hair follicle. After a series of laser appointments, the follicle becomes sterile -meaning no hair. The exact number of laser hair removal sessions will depend on your skin colour, the hair type and the hair location. Other factors include your level of tanning, and any associated medical or hormonal conditions you may have. Generally 6-8 sessions are required on average, however others may only need only 4-6 treatments. Darker clients will require a few more session compared to lighter skin clients undergoing hair removal. Clients who have underlying hormonal problems such as polycystic ovaries may require one or two top ups per year.
